La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham N Little Rock-McCain Mall

It is a nice hotel for a reasonable price. The continental breakfast was pretty solid. The room was really clean.

La Quinta - Warden Rd. (NLR) I would not recommend this place nor room xxx. The room had a pungent smell. This is certainly my last time ever staying at any La Quinta. They were terrible years ago and still are. The people running these hotels don't care about the guest. Instead being profitable. Where do I even begin? EXTERIOR: By the main entrance there is roof damage which implies that manager of this hotel doesn't put much effort into this place. Inside the hotel even more evidence that manager doesn't care about the guests. Parking lot is ok. It's located by the mall, but not a lot of great places to eat. If you're ok with junk food, stay in this area. LOBBY: When you first walk into the lobby, at first glance, it looks nice and clean. The young man was friendly and efficient checking me in. While I was waiting to be checked in, I walked around the lobby and looked at the furniture. It's old, worn out and needs to be replaced ASAP. ROOM: Standing in the hallway looking at my room door xxx, it's visibly worn and filthy dirty. The key card didn't work right away, it took few tries to open my room. Once I was inside, most of the things looked ok, to the naked eye. I booked for two-nights and I would have spend both nights, but... The room upon entry had a pungent smell. It wasn't cleaning chemical smell either. I spent one night there and the next, I couldn't tolerate sleeping in that nasty room. The beds were ok, not really comfortable. Pillows were cheaply made and small. Carpet by the entrance had two burnt marks, even though this room and entire hotel says they're smoke free building. BATHROOM: The bathroom tiles looked old and nasty. The shower was ok, not great. The sink by the entrance wasn't bad, but it looked outdated. The towels were cheaply and thinly made from India. They don't offer many towels for guest of two. BREAKFAST: Absolutely terrible. It was heavily processed food that's really bad for your health. Scrambled eggs were awful. Sausage patties had so much grease in the plate warmer, you could squeeze it into a glass cup. They offered some breads, bagels, yogurt and cereal options. What made this entire experience over the top worst is having an older homeless man walk into the breakfast area and the manager on duty, Patel, didn't do anything about it. He just sat behind the check in desk and watched as this homeless man was bothering other guests with his rocks, including myself. OVERALL: When you're a guest at any hotel, you should feel comfortable and welcomed. Not have a room that has such a terrible pungent smell that you couldn't stay for your entire stay you paid for. There is a place and a time for homeless people, but not in a hotel that you paid for. If you're trying to get a refund from this hotel, you won't. Manager will not refund you and make alternative excuses as to why you will not be refunded. Sometimes, you have to stay at cheap hotels to really know what is good for you and what isn't. Over the last three years, while traveling, I've chosen to stay at cheap hotels because the price was "right." With that mentality, comes wisdom to know that if you want to enjoy your stay, save some money in advance to travel and be comfortable. Even if it's xxx more than what your daily room budget would be. It's worth spending an extra xxx per night, knowing you will get a better night sleep and a better customer experience. Thanks to this hotel, they've put me over the edge and I will not be staying at cheap hotels anymore.
