Hotel is well located for easy trips to Auckland center, on foot or by bus. Lots of convenience stores one street away. Does not serve breakfast and not many options around unfortunately. Shared bathrooms are ok, just the essentials. The common room is big and comfortable, good place to do some reading or prepare your next adventures. Staff is polite, friendly, helpful, and smiling. Everything is good for the price, except that one night, someone was able to unlock and open my door. It was a good thing that I have the metal chain lock on, so that person wasn't able to open it all the way since the chain stopped the door. Even though the chain stopped the door, that person was still trying to get in which woke me up. I came to the door and I gave the knob a slight push to close the door. That person responded by saying something along the line, "Sorry, I didn't know that someone is in there" and then closed the door. I heard him jogging down the hallway. After this, I was trying to gather my thoughts on what happened. Then, I called the reception, but no one picked up. So went to sleep after I close the door and prop the chair up against the door. The next morning when I checked out, I told the staffs at the reception desk, and they apologized but didn't seem too concern (ie didn't try to look at any security footage to see if I can identify the individual or see if a police should be filed). Anyways, this doesn't make me feel safe and will never ever be staying at this hotel again. I don't know if it's one of the staffs who accidently opened the room b/c they were hoping to get some shut eye for that shift or if it was a random stranger who has a key to that room. Either way, it's not a good look. Things could've gone bad if I didn't have the metal chain lock on.

Central location, towels, tea, coffee etc, soap, hair care products all provided. Room was clean and serviced. It was lovely and quiet even though we were in the middle of town. Loads within walking distance and staff were fantastic. Thank you :)

Starting with the receptionist on the Monday night she was absolutely fabulous. The directions to a room the room facilities clean tidy really cost-effective for the person who doesn’t have a hell of a lot of money. We managed to get a deal for two people at $72 a night amazing The packing fee $20. There’s nothing overall. I highly recommend this motel to stay at and I’ll definitely be coming back again.

The room was very clean, the beds were very comfortable. Towels were clean and fluffy. Reception staff were very pleasant and super helpful. There are many dining options with in walking distance. It could be helpful to create a cooking space in the unused kitchen for families trying to cater for children

Place was undergoing renovation. Staff not friendly. More interested in looking on their phones. No cafe or able to get food. Place was noisy. Bedrooms and sheets were not clean. Place is dated. Needs a paint. Bathrooms were mouldy and not clean. Everything else is well below par. Place is located next to the Mormon church. If you want a cheap place for a night in downtown Auckland fine, but that is about all it is.

Great location, very old hotel. Our room pretty dark and dingy, and a bit musty smelling on arrival, Not sure what other rooms are like, but definitely felt more like a hostel than a hotel. Did the job of horizontal sleep support and was clean. Power cut to our room(others appeared to have power) in the evening and no-one on the front desk to assist wasn't ideal.

Whole place could do with a facelift. Swearing in corridors heard clearly inside the room. Concern becoz we had 3 children. Hair dryer didnt work. Unexpected booking fee deducted, although returned on departure. I don't understand why guests have to pay extra for overnight parking.
