Clean but very dated & not worth the price We arrived late and were greeted by William at the front desk, who was absolutely lovely. He was friendly, patient, and clearly doing everything on his own (phones, check-ins, food deliveries for guests, etc). Check-in took a while but he was great. The room itself was clean, and the bed was very comfortable with fresh towels and linens. However, the hotel is extremely dated and has a musty smell. My mom has dust allergies and had a rough night, so I wouldn’t recommend it for anyone sensitive to dust. The shower was old, the TV didn’t work (even after the remote batteries were replaced), and the Kleenex box had one tissue left. For over $200 a night, it just doesn’t feel like good value. If you’re in a pinch and only need a quick overnight, it’s fine — but if you can spend a little more, I’d suggest choosing a more updated hotel nearby.

We came to Ann Arbor for opening night at the Big House to watch U of M play football. Great property, very accommodating staff. Just a very nice place to stay with every amenity you could want!

We had a fun stay at the Kensington! Staff was welcoming and friendly, the room was clean, it was super close to everything we needed. We loved the little patio area with firepit. Would stay here again.

Average hotel. First room they gave us was dirty with wet towels all over the room. Second room was ok but despite our specific request for our room to be cleaned by housekeeping, the room was never cleaned. In addition, the room and bathroom are quite dated and in need renovations. With the exception of the lobby area, the hotel appears old and dated.

The room and the food were good. The staff was very welcoming and nice towards the children and me. However, The pool/sauna area/hot tub seems to be outdated. There was white solid material floating in the hot tub. The sauna looked rig with tape holding wires together. The pool rope was broken. The pool noodles had bite marks are over them that seem unsanitary.

So check-in was great. Room was clean and in good shape, but beds were soft and lighting was a little less than you would normally habe. When I went to open drapes for more.light, it revealed a full doorwall overlooking an interior hallway, not the outside. This was extremely strange for a 1st floor room and should be told to guests on check in.

Our stay at the Kensington in Ann Arbor MI was fantastic. The property, room and area are very nice. The accommodations and amenities are terrific. And the most outstanding aspect of our stay was the customer service, professionalism and overall positive attitude of Front Desk Supervisor - Cade. He is outstanding and we appreciate it.

The hotel is a solid 4 star hotel for the Ann Arbor area. The room was clean, no frills but comfortable. The staff was incredibly friendly from the moment we walked in the front door. Most of the hotels in this area are basically same level of accommodations.

Kensington Hotel on State Street at Ann Arbor is a very pleasant place to stay. The facility is clean, quiet, and convenient. It is relatively small, but offers all the upscale amenities you would like to enjoy. I wish we had time to stay longer so that we could use the indoor swimming pool, the lively backyard, the sauna, and the gym, etc. Their workers were all friendly. William at the front desk was particularly awesome. We arrived quite late that evening. He did not only offered the three adults of us a glass of champagne, but also offered to prolong the open time of the pool if our children would like to swim before going to bed. We have a saying in Chinese, 賓至如歸，meaning “the guests arrive as if they are at home.” William made us feel at home indeed.

The room definitely needs updated and the mattress desperately needs replaced!! The maid service was just okay! Needs to clean the cobwebs around the ceiling! Definitely not a hotel for tall people because the ceilings are low. The people at the front desk were kind and the lobby was nice. I room had a funny smell like someone smoked a cigar in it! Will not be staying here again!
