The location was great. Very quiet there which suited us. It is very convenient for walking into the town and along the river. The site itself was very clean and tidy and there is ample room to park right outside the lodge. Although we weren’t doing any cooking the lodge was adequately equipped for doing so. Nice touches of board games and various books and magazines of the local area. The welcome basket of goodies was appreciated as were the teabags and coffee. Everywhere was clean but due to the issue of the ants mentioned below I couldn’t give that the highest rating.

We were only staying for two nights so weren’t intending on cooking. I checked out the oven just to heat something and printed instructions would have been helpful as it took me a few goes at getting it to work correctly. Other points:- 1. There were ants in the property, mainly in the dining area, specifically on the carpet, the chairs and the table. A good number of them which we had to resort to dealing with daily. We couldn’t work out where they were coming from and it didn’t appear that the carpet had been subject to spillage. We didn’t leave any food or drinks lying around. These could be a bigger issue during summer months. 2. The loo in the en-suite was very slow to drain when flushed, filling up to the toilet rim. It wasn’t an issue whilst there as with only two of us we used the loo in the main bathroom. The cistern also appeared to have a drip, drip, drip after flushing.

The property was modern and cosy, offering beautiful views. Its location was fantastic right in the heart of everything. The welcome pack was a really nice touch! Communication was fab before we arrived too.

Nothing to fault! Lovely property! You can tell it’s very well cared for.
