Proactive staff and great dining service
Staff is quite kind and available, well beyond the average in the area. High degree of hygiene and great service. When I’m in Albania I often end up working remotely and their in-room dining service is simply excellent. I can’t neglect the staff’s reactivity, really.
So, I rated it 10/10 because they have a distinctive proactivity in terms of customer care and I want to encourage them. However, having been there 4 or 5 times now, I noticed some repetitive patterns that I’d suggest keeping an eye on: - Cleaning staff (very kind and professional) keep chatting with each other loudly in the corridors. As walls aren’t well isolated acoustically, you can literally follow their conversation. - Wifi coverage is good, but the speed is ridiculous. Meaning there’s signal, but you can’t do anything with it. Anything basic, let alone to work with it. During each of my stays I’ve worked 8h a day with my iPhone’s hotspot. - I use their in-room service heavily. I generally like it. There are few courses that require more care: risottos are intended to be al dente (which I like) but they’re ultimately cooked at 2/3. When you order meat they never ask you if you want it rare, medium, well done etc. It’s always well done. - Garage exit: if you go out in the early morning as I do, chances are for you to struggle going out. Another issue is that some folks keep parking their cars at the exit. I have already raised this in the past and I wish they become more rigid on this with some signage or something. - This is a typical north-Albanian thing: they really struggle to smile to guests. I’ve never understood why but if don’t originate from the area (I do), the chances of you perceiving a form of hostility are quite high. Nevertheless, the core target of the hotel are Albanians who go to the thermal baths few hundreds of metres from there. I’m aware these points may be only subtleties for them, but I genuinely wish them to improve as I plan to return again.

A Truly Wonderful Stay at Hotel Monopoly
From the moment we arrived at Hotel Monopoly, everything was exceptional. The staff were warm, welcoming, and attentive, making us feel right at home. Our room was spotless, tastefully decorated. Breakfast each morning was delicious, with a wide variety of fresh options. The hotel’s amenities were top-notch and provided the perfect way to unwind after a day of exploring. Special thanks to the staff for going above and beyond to make our stay memorable. We highly recommend Hotel Monopoly to anyone visiting Peshkopi—we can’t wait to return!

Large rooms, with fridges, with a elevator from the underground parking to the rooms
This is a hotel, with a grand entrance compared to what else we saw in the area. There was underground parking with an elevator up to the hotel and rooms. The rooms were spacious, with a sofa and table. There was warm water for showers, and you could set the heating in the room to the temperature you wanted. Breakfast was served as a hot egg, sausage, bread, butter and jam, cheese, cucumber and tomato per person, with one drink of choice orange, apple juice, tea or coffee in the restaurant. The best apple/orange juice as it was fresh. We did request rooms close by, and they were next door to each other. A hotel Teddy bear was in one of the rooms.
The hotel was in a quiet area but they played loud music downstairs in the morning from the bar which could be heard in the rooms. There were only 2 hangers in the room, with no kettle or way to make a hot drink. There was also no glasses or mugs, but you could ask for these at the bar and no spare pillows but again you could ask. The beds were very hard compared to others in Albania. There were have used toiletries left to use instead of new ones. The biggest disappointment was the Jacuzzi is not for everyone as it appeared to be advertised on Booking.com but only the junior suite so wrongly promoted.
