Nandini Cottage, A premium boutique Homestay

The location was awesome, the staff are cooperative. Food was good.

The room decor is done quite tastefully. The building is just at the end of a valley having a spectacular view of the snow cladded mountain range immediately after the valley ends on the other side.

The chef in the hotel needs to attend a couple of, may be more, cooking classes. Food was barely palatable.

This is hands down the best homestay of this category that I have ever visited. Aesthetically the property is beautiful. The property has been built very thoughtfully and every practical minor detail & amenities regarding the guest's comfort has been taken care of. It even has a small children's park and a well catalogued library. The best part is the location. The views are insaaaane from every nook and corner of the property including the rooms with the entire Kumaon range visible and also some of the Garhwal and Nepal Himalayas. The homestay also has a beautiful , interesting ,small hiking trail leading up to the ridge of the hill from where the views are even more grand specially at sunrise or sunset. The food menu is decent and we had the thali for dinner and the quantity can easily fill 3 people with 2 thalis. The taste of the food is good too, though some items could have been less spicy , but that's just our palette and preference. And yes this homestay has an elevator from the road as the hill is ery steep leading up to the property. Forget hillstations. Station yourself here and do day trips to Kausani , Ranikhet etc.
