Location, price, rooms were clean.
Decor needs updating. The rooms layout wasn’t great the tv was one end of the room from the beds and no electrical points near the beds.

Great value for money as always. Can’t wait to revisit after the refurbishment takes place…. Hope it is still a reasonable price.
Missed the lovely breakfasts that we have had there in the past, but they will be back sooonest we were assured!

Nothing.
Absolutely awful stay. We arrived and there was mould all over the bathroom. Asked to change rooms, and we got a new room. Still grimy and outdated, we tried to sleep but gave up in the end due to an endless amount of people moving around the hotel (squeaky floorboards!) and the bed feeling like a spring factory. We left the hotel at about 11pm and drove home, no offer of a refund or any compensation, I even emailed the hotel and never received a response. Awful 0/10, its cheap for a reason, don't do it.

There was a big party that went on till 12 am which had very loud music making it hard for me and my partner to sleep as the base would shake the room

Location.
On arrival, reception unattended, then a girl comes over, in a green day hoodie, clould of been anyone, and greets me with "yeah"..truly well trained in guest relations....NOT.
Then i'm handed my key..
I didnt have a crystal ball to guess, where the room was, so i ask...
Reply...."that way" ...brilliant service..
Car park is badly lit and full of potholes.
Totally disappointing...
Better book a travelodge...

It was disgusting! I will upload pictures. Everything had mould, carpets were so dirty I didn’t even want to sit my bag on them. We were put in room 10 first which was just above the ballroom/party room and we wouldn’t have been as well at the party the flood was vibrating! We got moved to room 16 which was slightly better but also disgusting, we wanted to leave so asked for a refund which they said they couldn’t do! As it was October week other hotels were booked up, believe me when I say my husband and I tried lots of other places!
I never leave bad reviews and I don’t mind a lower star rating if it’s at least clean but I was scared I would catch something in here. I can’t add as many pictures as I would like! We had a tv with the Ariel snapped out the back of it so it didn’t work! The remote had a build up of dirt on it and it looked like someone had chewed a few of the buttons! 🤢 we got a couple of bottles of coke from the bar to take to the room and the glasses they gave us were really dirty! Just everything was shocking!

Good location for what we had planned and good parking
1 large and 1 small towel in each room. The Lady on reception had to raid other rooms to find us a few more !! 3 rooms and only 1 remote control for 3 tvs. When we asked on the Thursday we was told the maintenance dept would have to sort that yet when we left on Saturday we still had 1 remote for 3 rooms and all the extra ( 3 ) towels were Removed from our rooms Friday day time when we was out. On the Friday night there was a regular booking of northern soul. Would
Have been nice to have been given the heads up bearing in mind the disco was right beneath out rooms and felt like we was on the dance floor until 1230 !!!!
The place looked like Bella towers from OFAH and smelt like a students armpit.
Don’t get me wrong it could be something very good but there was carpet in the toilet which meant the floor got wet when the shower eventually heated up and the mattress was as soft as a waterbed but I suppose that what you get for £50per night.

Nothing it was so pleasant

Location was good, tea and coffee in the room, the staff were nice enough, it was clean.
Will be interested to see what they have done after the renovations.
Going through renovations,is an understatement, the rooms went out of style in the 1970's, other guests were noisy all night, if you have low expectations you may be pleasantly surprised, but I doubt it. Water pressure/ shower heads were poor. Overall you get what you pay for.

Room was clean and provided sufficient facilities. I am informed that residents can now use the gym for free. Plenty of space for parking but don't forget to log in your VRN at reception.
TV now works in the single room although there is no remote for it. WIFI signal is not available in the rooms but a good signal is available in the main lounge room.

No food available.

The look of the bar and how kind the staff were, it was decent for one night but I wouldn’t have stayed any longer.
It looked very outdated and was uncomfortable. We had a view of the roof and the lights were very outdated, it smelt damp and the tv wasn’t working at all no sound.

Loved the chalet room at the back. Amazing bath and shower very powerful and very hot water. Clean well functioning room. Great leisure club facilities, extremely friendly staff, bar was lovely, stayed much longer than I expected to be staying the following day due to a change in circumstance but found the place to be very accommodating and welcoming. I really enjoyed my stay and will hopefully be back sometime.
There wasn't anything I didn't like. It's a shame the bar isn't open a little earlier snf there isn't any food but I understand if there isn't the demand

Location and parking were good. Easy access and lots of space on the car park
Not easy check in due to event in main hall, instructions said to go through main doors?
Room cleanliness marks on bedding, shower dirty, mattress flat and could feel springs. Appears to be a small double so not a lot of room. Also tv on one side of bed so not practical

After booking I had an email to advise that the hotel was under new management and was going through some changes, this wasn't on the listing but it was adequate information had I wanted to cancel before our stay. I didn't. For the amount I paid and the intention of going to Alton Towers it was a fair price and in a good location. The hotel and rooms were dated - no shower only baths - but, the room was clean and the beds comfy. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Was advised on arrival that there was no food service that evening but if we wanted to order take away they would provide plates and cutlery for us.
If the listing had mentioned it was undergoing changes and that food may not be offered. Probably wouldn't have put me off but would have been nice to know at the time of booking.

Convenient location for the potteries. Good value for a one night stay
WiFi did not exist even though precise details were given by a staff member. Undesirable person on the property made it feel uncomfortable. Room though clean needed a complete facelift. Room faced the car park had to have the balcony door open to let any air into the room so it made it a bit noisy with people leaving the bar late at night. Apparently no chef so could not get a simple breakfast.

The bed was comfy. The staff were nice. It was okay for a night to sleep. Close to Alton towers.
The toilet handle was broken. The toilet light was dodgy. There is mold on the sink. Walls so thin heard people doing unholy things… couldn’t sleep with the moans and banging against the wall. The pool is £7.50 a person. There is better pools in the area much cheaper. There was a wedding party thing downstairs the place was booming but wasn’t super late. £10 key deposit which your not told about also till u arrive.

Was close to the wedding venue I was going to
The shower/toilet may aswell of been on top of eachother they were crammed into a tiny cupboard it seemed. Had plenty of room in the room to expand that.

Location was close to alton towers
Had to pay extra for swimming £7.50 per person was very steep considering it was free last year website states for a small extra charge!

It was a beautiful place in front of a farm to its back of the hotel. The rooms were clean and spacious.
The staff were friendly and helpful, it was a very comfortable stay and no noise or even smell from the farm which was a bonus.
I honestly can't think of anything

The lady at reception on check in was really nice a polite and very helpful.
Was a bit over priced no air con so the room was really hot, the hotel was in abit of disrepair, there was another quest who keep looking in our window so had to keep blind closed as windows was so close together, the room next door kept banging there door all night and shouting and no staff around at night to ask for help with this.

Mattress on double bed was to thin little bit of mould in bathroom
2.0 / 10.0
It was open and they had a bed.
Hidden charges. They took a £10 deposit for the key. They advised that to use any of the facilities in the hotel would require paying £7. They advised that they wanted to take 1p on my card to hold that amount on the card 'open' in case of any damages to the property. Thankfully I only had my card on my phone which they reported wouldn't work so they couldn't do it. This suggests they could take any amount if they felt there were any damages. The room didn't have a fire door as it had been removed, there were damages in the room already which I felt the need to video both on arrival and upon leaving in case they claimed it was me. I had requested a bath as they advertised there was one however I was advised upon arrival there wasn't. The staff were very officious. The property looked like the kind that was once a place of splendour but had fallen into disrepair for whatever reason. Did not appear to look as advertised from what I could see from my experience vs what they had on their website. The room was cold I couldn't see any thermostat, there was no TV remote, toilet/shower area very cramped. Sorry but travelodge is far better. I suspect once the place has been renovated it will be much improved but not at this point which explains why it is so cheap but from the pics on the site felt a bit like I got catfished. Apologies but that was my experience.

Broken window in room, curtains that didn’t meet, carpet in toilet. Poorly ventilated room. Told we couldn’t have breakfast as the chef was off. Very tired and in need of major overhaul. It was cheap and we definitely got what we paid for.

Got to the hotel and it was nothing like in the ad on booking.com. building was very run down and not looked after. There was a party on with music full blast we were only told about on arrival, and informed it would be on until midnight, they then proceeded to show us to our room directly above the disco.
Aside from the vibration through the floor, the bed was cheap and uncomfortable, the room was outdated and dirty and the bathroom consisted of a shower and a toilet built into a cupboard.
We left as within 10 minutes of arriving. The worst hotel I have come across, and I've stayed in shanty towns in Thailand. The hotel needs to be bought out and revamped. Fully redecorated and some investment in restorations of the structure itself.
Need better management, you've got two staff members running a hotel and bar on a Saturday night with an event on..?
