Charming Normandy Cottage

Lovely peaceful location, near to excellent facilities in Pont L’Eveque. The beds are excellent- so comfortable, as was the sofa.

The setting is the real draw. Ten hectares of woodland, hedgerow and open plots, very quiet, and lovely in high summer. The cottage is comfortable and full of character. Séverine is an attentive host who replies quickly and gives genuinely useful local advice, including the Bois du Breuil and where to park for it. When our vet appointment fell through at short notice she recommended two practices and we were seen the following morning. That kind of help matters when you are travelling with dogs.

Two things worth knowing before you book. The grounds come with conditions that only became clear after arrival: one of the owners’ dogs is reactive, so guests are asked to message before every walk and to keep away from certain areas. Sensible in itself, but the mobile signal on site is weak, which makes the arrangement harder to follow than it sounds. Second, the working life of the estate carries on around you. None of it ruined the stay, but it is less private than the listing implies.

A very cute house in a gorgeous setting. The surrounding is so peaceful and the house is decorated with a great taste and detail. The kitchen is provided with whatever you can think of. The bedding is fantastic, the bathrooms are superb. The location is fantastic, within a range of a 20 minutes drive you have the famous beach cities and going south you reach the pittoresk little Normandy towns. The owners are your "closest neighbors" and are always ready to come over in case you request it. You truly are under the impression that you are the estate owner. All garden furniture is present and while you enjoy the setting there are only the sounds of nature that surround you.
