Great location
One Star – Stunning Location, But Furniture Ruins the Whole Overpriced Experience Don’t let the breathtaking views and prime location fool you—Rancho Real is a classic case of style over substance, and the substance is sorely lacking. Nestled just 30 minutes north of San Diego with panoramic sunsets over lush foliage and easy access to Del Mar and La Jolla, the setting is genuinely magical. The outdoor pool area sparkles under the golden hour light , and the private patio off the primary suite offers unbeatable vistas that make you forget you’re in suburbia. But inside? It’s a dated disaster that doesn’t come close to justifying the eye-watering rates—over $1,000/night before fees, taxes, and that ridiculous $200/day pool heater add-on. In general a lack of mantainance: Upon arrival you can notice an unpleasant smell: a mix of humidity and some weird sanitizer. The patio and outdoor furniture were dusty and full of spiderwebs, the windows were also in an urgent need of cleaning. Cleaning supplies were scarce, not a broom or a mop in sight, just a collection of old and broken supplies. The furniture, including rugs, are outright ugly and old, screaming “early 2000s clearance sale” rather than the “contemporary, upscale design” they hype. Those bulky, boxy living room sofas look like they haven’t been reupholstered since the Bush administration—sagging cushions that swallow you whole, they’ve been through a dozen rowdy family reunions without a single polish. In general not suitable at all for allergic or asthmatic people, my husband and son got hives all over their bodies. Dated AC unit lacking maintenance, dirty air vents, I wonder the condition of the filters, with thermostat variations throughout the day failing to achieve a correct temperature. Bathrooms with various moldy spots in extractors, caulk and silicon moldings. Bedrooms fare no better.

A beautiful house just short of excellent
The house was beautiful and very comfortable
Communication during the stay. Gardener cut tree down during our stay and left the branches all over the patio and in the pool. I asked for them to come at a specific time and to give notice. Gargldener arrived 2 hours before with no notice, and I heard nothing from the company. Also, we couldn't use the bbq as it was broken and the WiFi was a constant sign in.
