NOR14 - Vire - Maison Bear

Good location at the edge of an unspoilt village with a couple of small shops and a café Responsive owner and lovely caretakers who go out of their way to help when there is a small issue, give tips for outings in the area etc. Good beds, nice decor, well-equipped kitchen, plenty of bathrooms and plenty of space to spread out for a group of 10-12 people Great terrace - sun in the morning, shade later in the afternoon and evening Spacious enclosed garden Lovely view over hills and fields interspersed with rows of trees Pool table in the living room! Plenty of cutlery and crockery Lots of things to see and do within an hour's drive Two dedicated parking spaces and plenty of parking in the village high street in front of the house

We can't think of anything substantial we didn't like. The breadknife needed sharpening, that's all. For dog owners (or hikers) it's good to know there are no walking tracks directly from the village (at least we didn't find any), only roads (mostly with pavements). But if you don't mind driving a short distance you'll find plenty, in the valley of the river Vire, the forest of Saint-Sever-en-Calvados etc.
