Embassy deluxe 2

It's a beautiful building & my apartmemt was nicely decorated. The manager tried to accommodate my disabilities by putting me on the first floor.

There are stairs or you must step up or down with no railing. The lighting throught the apartment except the bathroom was dim. The bathtub was slippery. The fridge & freezer doors wouldn't close securely. Also didn't know of the ice cube and water dispensers actually work.

Embassy Deluxe has everything I wish for in a Kingston studio: convenient location, good security, pool, comfy bed, well-equipped kitchen, laundry room, stable wifi. Communication before arrival was a bit difficult: I kept asking about the pool to the extent that the Spencers must have thought I am a bit mad :-). But summer in Kingston is hot and access to a pool is essential for me. The pool was fine! Some of the pretty mosaic tiles are coming off but it is well maintained and clean and a bliss overall! The kitchen has a big stove, an even bigger fridge and a blender which I loved for making smoothies with all the delicious tropical fruit that's available. There is a laundry room on the same (ground) floor with a huge commercial-style washing machine and an equally huge dryer (1 token per load; 500 JMD per token). The water pressure is great (if you know Kingston, you know what an asset that is). The bed is very comfortable, there is a walk-in wardrobe, an iron plus an ironing board and all the cushions and pillows anyone might ever need. The windows have mosquito nets which can be very helpful if mosquitos love you as much as me... Secure parking on the compound is included. The grounds are well looked after by Mr. Nicolas who really keeps the place tidy and also sells the laundry tokens. At night there is a security guard at the gate. Two minutes down the road you can find a supermarket and ATMs. Route taxis are passing by the house and Half Way Tree, one of the main transport hubs in Kingston, is a 5-minute-drive away. I really felt at home at Embassy Deluxe and was lucky enough to be able to extend my stay for more than a week. I would definitely stay there again when coming back to Kingston!

The lock of the apartment door needs some oiling - at times I had to fight it to get in/out :-)

Die Lage ist einfach perfekt. Nah bei der Deutschen, Kanadischen und US-Botschaft, Fontana mit Starbuck‘s und Wendy‘s genau gegenüber. Die Gegend ist sehr sicher. Ein super Restaurant nebenan. Schöne und gepflegte Einrichtung.

Der Pool war leider nicht in Betrieb.

it did not seem to clean...there was a lot of clutter in the cupboards and storage areas i was so happy i had a sheet in my suitcase, i did not feel like lay down on what was there! it was not even a bottle of water there...my plane was delayed and even though i messaged the host about it, she called numerous time, all stressed about me beeing late! and eventually left, so when i reached, i had to stay outside and wait for quite a while. i had to pay cash in us $, good luck i actually had some us $! i am not american and do not regular travel with us $. I did not get a receit.
