The Koukaki Urban Escape Apartment

We booked this place for the location and the price. 20 to30 min walk to major sights but in a much quieter area with cheaper and less touristy restaurants. Easy to check in and out with a nice quiet air conditioner in the bedroom. The apartment was perfect for our short stay in Athens. There is a nice and affordable grill on the next street and other affordable bars and restaurants within a short walk. 15 minutes on the public bus (1.2 euro) to get to the airport bus (5.5 euro) which is very convenient.

The apartment is a little old but everything works which is fine. The kitchen is ok but not set up to have more than a simple pasta, some knives and spoons but only 1 fork in the drawers for some reason. For the owners, the silicone in the shower needs redoing as it leaks over the floor. No big deal for guests of course.

Staff were so incredibly helpful. Answered all our questions and gave us multiple options for things they couldn’t accommodate themselves. The apartment was in a good location and was easy to navigate our way into the main area of Athens and Piraeus where we were catching ferries in and out.

As a group of girls, we would’ve loved a full length mirror in the property. The tiny one in the bathroom didn’t really accommodate for that. The bathroom was very small and I hit my hands on the ceiling multiple times getting changed in there. I wouldn’t want to be over 6 foot! The walls seem to be very thin in the apartment complex as we could hear lots of things happening out in the corridor and in the neighbouring apartments. At one point it was so loud it seemed the noise was coming from inside the apartment, of course this was not the case, but it did seem it.

Location is excellent. Clean. Host is easy to communicate with. Refurbished modern double glazed balcony doors. Efficient aircon-heating coverage. Fast water heating. Well equipped kitchen. Overall good value for money.

Bathroom.

The location was excellent, and the apartment was clean and well-organized

There were three guests in our group, but bed linen and towels were provided for only two people, which meant that one guest had no linen or towel. Additionally, the shower was not working, so we had to wash using water from the faucet. The bathroom sink was also very small and inconvenient to use
