Sunny Garden Balcony in Old Quarter, Free Laundry, Free Water

Van - the host - was super helpful in arranging the stay beforehand and also provided helpful tips upon arrival. That was amazing! The room itself was nice and provided everythin needed. The private balcony was a nice add-on. The location was fantastic, in the middle of the Old Quarter and within walking distance of the main sights. It could get a bit loud during the night, but otherwise everything was totally good - and that for a very fair price. I would always come back if visiting Hanoi again.

Petit mais compensé par l’agréable terrasse. Lit très confortable. Laveuse, secheuse, eau à volonté, wifi excellent. Emplacement idéal, tout se fait à pied. Mais c’est surtout Van que nous avons apprécié. Gentille, disponible, et nous donne de précieux conseils. Je recommande!

Il faut savoir que cet appartement est au quatrième étage et qu’il n’y a pas d’ascenseur.

Vân (pronounced Vun) is a most considerate host. The accommodation has a dark, tight double 4th floor bedroom, with one side of the bed against the wall (acceptable for a short stay). A short passageway leads to a good sized, covered roof terrace with two chairs & small table, plus hammock, high above a bustling street in the old quarter. The terrace is what gives the accommodation its magic: for us, it renders insignificant any other limitations. Electric kettle in the room and hair dryer, plus effective Air Con. Guests have shared use of a washing machine and tumble dryer on fifth floor (detergent supplied). Kitchen with shared fridge, dining table and minimal cooking facilities on second floor. Great café & restaurant options nearby, so very little need to cook. On the ground floor is a cocktail bar, which was very quiet most evenings. Did we enjoy it? Absolutely. Would we be happy to stay again? Yes. Do we recommend it? Tight space, far from luxurious, many steep stairs, but the very helpful host, wonderful Old Quarter location, laundry facilities, air con, value and great roof terrace are all strong positives. We are grateful to Vân for arranging efficient, good value car to airport.

Wet room has a design flaw so that it doesn’t drain well. If the weather were rotten, e.g. with high pollution levels, you might struggle to enjoy the limited indoor space. I could literally taste the atmospheric pollution at times: it exacerbated my wife's asthma. If the obvious limitations (stairs etc.) don't put you off, it merits strong consideration. Vân's hosting a strong plus.

Pokój przyjemny w samym centrum miasta :) wszędzie blisko, dodatkowym atutem jest balkon z którego można obserwować tętniące życiem miasto :) gospodyni Van bardzo pomocna. Poleciła nam miejsca z przepysznym jedzeniem. Żałujemy tylko, że nie udało nam się spotkać na żywo. Można zrobić pranie za darmo, jest proszek do prania i suszarnia :)
