Escape to Chub Lake Retreat: Waterfront Luxury House in Carlton, Minnesota

Great Lake property, property was as described, host was helpful and responsive. I traveled with my husband, 4 kids and our dog, everyone had a fantastic time. The kayaks and paddle boards provided were enjoyed by all.

Beautiful property. Bedrooms are very large and comfortable. Bathrooms are very large and clean. A nice lake.

This is now one of our favorite places to stay around the U.S. Being from Cloquet and my relatives live on this lake, it worked out perfectly for us. Every amenity you can imagine in the house! The hot tub was perfect! We recommend renting the boat and fishing! Great communication from the host! If you want guaranteed memories for your vacation/travels then this is it!

We booked this place based on the reviews and the hot tub, so we had very high hopes this would be a wonderfully relaxing stay. We did learn from the host that the renters before us were very disrespectful to their home, and may have done some damage. The cleanliness of the home was not as we had expected. The inside of the microwave was covered in food, so I had to clean it before we could use it. Both showers had some white clumpy stuff on the floor, not sure if it was the cleaning agents that were used, but I had to rinse the showers down before we could use them.Only 3 of the burners on the stove worked and the gas grill would not go above 250. The bedroom downstairs curtain rod was hanging off the wall, so my daughter could not close the curtains in her bedroom, we told the host about it right away, but no one came to fix it. The gas fire pit on the upper deck did not work. The hot tub was disgusting, so we were not able to use it. The host did send someone over to drain it, but never came back to clean it, but was gracious enough to refund us some money because we could not use it, which was appreciated. The views were beautiful and our bed was very comfortable and we really enjoyed the loft area upstairs and the upper deck, but overall it was not the relaxing stay we were hoping for for the price we paid.
