Suburbs of Reykjavík, new beautiful apartment, next door to nature

Very friendly host and well-equipped apartment! Good location outside of town with free parking and multiple nearby stores including Costco!

N/A, but just something to be aware of - this home is the primary home of the host who leaves when the house is booked, so it definitely feels like you are staying in her house (clothes, pictures, food, etc.)

Etwas außerhalb der Stadt- dafür ruhig in einem Neubaugebiet. Mit dem Auto alles kein Problem. Die sehr nette Vermieterin stellt ihr nagelneues Apartment, das komplett eingerichtet ist zur Verfügung. Viel Platz für 3 - 4 Leute. Sehr empfehlenswert!

We had a fantastic stay at our host's beautiful apartment in the suburbs of Reykjavik. The check-in process was super smooth, and the apartment was spotless and exactly as described. The beds were comfortable, the wifi was good, and the location was perfect, close to the downtown Reykjavik attractions. Our host was incredibly welcoming and responsive throughout the stay. I highly recommend this place to anyone who is visiting Reykjvik, Iceland.

Everything else was great, except minor door issue. I had some trouble opening and closing the main door due to the stiffness of the handle; however, we managed it. Overall, it was a good experience.

The apartment was spacious, in new building, very nicely decorated, at the edge of the city, so quite quiet and peaceful. Very comfortable beds. Lovely balcony. Clean, but if you look better, it is not clean as one would expect.

First of all, it was not clear from the booking.com description that this apartment is actually used by owners and they move out when the booking was made. I would appreciate if this was clear from the beginning. Second, for the >9 rating, I expect place to be spotless. Upon out arrival I could see that kitchen sink was not cleaned properly and there were stains all over the oven glass. There was dust on some furniture... But, I could live with that. Owner asked us if we could take off the bedding after we leave. Which is not problem at all. As soon I started doing that I was shocked to see that mattresses, pillows and duvets were, well, quite dirty and full of stains. There was not even a mattress protector to cover up the stains. The children duvet had two different colours on the opposite edges (white-ish to very yellow...). We were packing up, and were quite happy with the stay, but this at the end of our trip really made me slightly sick. This was not a cheap rent. IKEA is literally 5 min. Few extra pillows, duvets and mattress covers should do the trick. If I did not see this, I would not mind the not very clean kitchen and my review would be much milder.
