We travelled 5 hours for a special event and arrived at this property around 9:30pm, with an early start the next morning. Unfortunately, what should have been a simple overnight stay turned into a stressful experience. The apartment had two single beds, but one was completely broken. The bed frame was bent, unstable, and unusable – when I lay on it, it immediately sank on one side. With no sofa or alternative sleeping option in the apartment, we had no choice but to contact the owner. We waited just under an hour for a response, only to be told later that we “should have called” even though we were following the instructions provided on the booking site. By that point, we had no option but to book a hotel instead, as we needed rest for our early start. What shocked me most was that the owner openly admitted she already knew about the broken bed but was told by cleaners it “didn’t affect use.” Clearly, it did. No guest should have to pay £140 for two nights and be expected to sleep on a bed that the owner knew was broken. The fact that a replacement bed had been ordered shows it was unfit for use. The next morning, the owner offered another apartment but declined to give any refund, even though we had already had to book alternative accommodation. She also assumed we had checked into her second property, despite my first message clearly saying we’d had to find a hotel instead. Overall, the owner may have been polite, but her priorities were not on ensuring guests had a comfortable stay. Issues like this should be rectified within minutes, not hours, and certainly not brushed off with “you should have called.” I would not recommend this property, and I think it’s unacceptable that no refund has been given for such a poor experience.

Very clean and comfortable, excellent facilities, highly recommend, good location to town centre, felt like a home. Would come back again :)

Unfortunately there is only one window, so I know it can be a struggle, did have a fan which was helpful, it just gets very warm, I think because of there being flats around, it might insulate heat, and trap in the heat, radiators where off, but it just gets extremely warm, would still return though, very good accommodation.

I have stayed at a few hotels and apartments in wakefeild. This one was the best it's a small apartment but has everything you need it's close to everything and it's very quiet . I will definitely be staying again .
