All in all its nice to stay here and have some fun with love ones, its just that if you order anything drinks etc. you will pay additional tax fee

First came to this place when I was 9 years old. Booked Casa Basilisa this time to celebrate my 25th birthday with some of the same people I was with the first time, our family. We only gather once a year because we are all quite busy. Made this reservation a few weeks prior and had been in contact with the staff of the property via Facebook Messenger to ask some questions, and to make sure we can comply with their rules and any excess fees we may need to pay (we expected to pay excess fees because we were 10 adults and only 7 was allowed in the villa, we also had 3 kids with us). When we arrived at the resort ready to check in, I was informed by the front desk that they would be draining the pool by midnight (that is 10 hrs into our whole stay). This means that if we wanted to take a late-night swim or if we wanted to take a morning swim before we check out, we can't :). Take note that this is the only amenity in the resort; there's nothing else to do here. Considering that the resort staff had been in contact with me days before our check-in date, you would think that they would at least have some consideration to tell me that they had a scheduled pool drain/clean during our stay at the property, having an effect on our overall experience. In the morning when we woke up, I asked the front desk what time the pool would be filled with water again, she said around 11 am to 12 pm, which by that time we're already packing up. She also suggested we use the "other" pool, which seems they had another pool that is a bit hidden, so we went to check it out... it is dirty and undermaintained (please see the attached pic of the only pool with water, would you let your toddlers swim in that?). By 9 am, we collectively decided to just start packing up and go home, as there was nothing else to do in the area. Don't get me wrong, the place is nice and good for relaxing and taking a fresh breath of air, but instances like this make the experience feel unfulfilling and a waste of money and time. In situations like this, you will expect them to offer a refund or at least a partial refund for the inconvenience, but I did not receive any offer. It would be different if they could have told us a few days before our check-in, so we could move or change the reservation. Our whole group had already prepared food and made travel arrangements to be there. Disappointing. Unfortunately, we will not be coming back and will not be recommending this place.
