The cities of Nuremberg and Erlangen are just as easily accessible as recreational activities in Franconian and Hersbruck Switzerland.
and/or the story of a heated non-residential building:
Once upon a time...
... a massive outbuilding that stood by a stream and had been vacant for years because there was no idea or plan for how to use it.
And then it happened; it all began in early 2022:
Trenches were dug across the property, the floor of the building was excavated to a depth of several meters using excavators, utility lines were laid, and floors and ceilings were poured. A stairwell was built almost entirely inside the building; some windows were bricked up, while others were cut out or enlarged.
The many new interior walls eventually gave rise to 7 bright apartments. Light-colored tiles and a pop of color, wood-look flooring, one double bed in each unit and
2 units with 2.5 sofas, and 7 fully equipped kitchens later, it was finally completed in September 2023.
For structural reasons, a large number of steel beams were necessary. In addition, there are the wooden trusses that originally supported the roof—and still do, to some extent.
We were able to integrate both harmoniously into the apartments, turning this circumstance into stylish design elements.
In some places, the steel beams run through the kitchen countertop, or the wooden trusses run through the dining table.
We’re very pleased that this 1950s building has been brought back to life.
