Très bon accueil par la propriétaire qui est très à l'écoute des locataires et de leurs compagnons à 4 pattes. Magnifique logement et jardin très fleuri en cette période. Lieu très calme, idéal pour se resourcer. Commerces locaux (boulangerie, boucherie, viticulteur) proche et accessible à pied. Conforme à la description sur le site.

The gite is well placed to explore parts of the Loire valley, in particular Fontevraud and Saumur. The house itself is pleasant and reasonably well appointed.

There is no indication in the road that the house is a gite - no sign of any kind. You need to follow Google Maps or equivalent very carefully. The main problem was the lack of comfortable seats in the house - only a small sofa with a straight back. Immediately outside there is a large rough gravelly area, while the grassy garden (shown on the website) is some 30 m away up a slope. There is no shade if you want to sit there - and it was extremely warm while we were there. Otherwise you have to sit either in a small courtyard beside the house or under a sheltered area outside the front door. This we found very disappointing. Our hostess did not meet us on arrival, or indeed at any other point. The instructions for the gite are minimal. At one point the gas for the stove ran out and there were no clues about what to do. On emailing the hostess we were told there was a spare gas bottle in the garage. By the time we had located and fitted it (how to do that was not obvious), it was too late for our evening meal.
