The property was spacious, well equipped and comfortable with lots of little touches that were greatly appreciated such as the board games which our children thoroughly enjoyed! The jetty and lake were great fun, and we really enjoyed the comfortable outdoor seating and dining facilities; utilising the sunbeds due to the heatwave was excellent! Plenty of space for 2 cars and really nicely spaced from neighbours. Aldi and Booths are 5 mins in the car which was great for little shops. Carnforth is a bit of a sleepy village, but would 100% recommend food in Lancaster at “All hopes, no promises” a burger bar located approx. 20 min drive, the food was incredible!! Would also recommend a visit to Lowther Castle, 50 min drive to Penrith, not overly expensive for a family of six (cost around £50 for everyone) and was a great day out for everyone. Go ape is around 50 mins away in Grizedale Forrest, quite expensive but free for spectators if not everyone wants to take part. Overall we absolutely loved our stay here, the children were begging us to book for next year before we even left!

Nothing bad, more of an observation for future, we were there during a heatwave and would have loved some fans in the cupboards to cool down. We noted there were heaters for the colder months which is a great idea, maybe some fans would be a welcome addition in the warmer months.

Location right in front of the lake, facilities, kayak and life jackets. Fully equipped kitchen. Excellent communications prior to arrival to explain everything. We enjoyed our stay there.

These are minor things and is meant as a recommendation for the owner. Some fixtures are showiing their age and may need replacing. One example is the ensuite bathroom where the shower doors don't close properly and the shower head does not stay up and keeps falling, so you sometimes need to hold it against the wall.

The view straight onto the lake. Visiting ducks and swans. Watching the dragonflies. The lodge was in a lovely position looking straight onto the lake. It was clean, comfortable and very well equipped.
