Quiet beautiful historic home

While the property itself was nice, the overall experience felt a bit impersonal. I would have preferred having at least one staff member available on-site. There was no bottled water, coffee in the room, or even a simple welcome note upon arrival. Another inconvenience was that food had to be ordered a day in advance, which wasn’t clearly communicated. Although the property isn’t marketed as a traditional bed and breakfast, it felt somewhat like we were staying in someone’s home while they were away rather than in a hospitality-focused accommodation. As a result, we never felt fully settled or welcomed and found ourselves wanting to pack up and leave early the next morning—which is exactly what we did.

It was clean and nicely decorated. The air was cool. It was centrally located to downtown. There were plenty of towels and washcloths and toiletries.

The bed was terribly uncomfortable with really uncomfortable pillows. There was no bottles of water or even a granola bar. You could order an expensive plate for a snack by a certain time. There was an ice machine, but not a drink to put over it! The bathroom was freezing. The directions for unlocking the door were a bit confusing and could have been condensed. For the price we paid, we feel like they could have done a little bit. more for guests! There were some uncomfortable characters walking around close to the parking area as we pulled in after the fair, as well.
