About this house rental

Gorwel is a spacious, semi-detached, south facing holiday home located in the centre of St Davids, within walking distance of the beach at Caerfai, the medieval Cathedral Close and the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path. Built in the 1930s, it has been recently renovated throughout, yet retains many original features and charm with high ceilings. Set back from the road with a lawned front garden, the cosy sitting room has a wonderful bay window overlooking the street. Enjoy meals in the formal dining room with its charming antique dresser and feature fireplace. The newly fitted kitchen with breakfast table overlooks the rear garden, while a second sitting room makes a perfect quiet spot to read.  Dine alfresco in the large, enclosed lawned garden with plenty of room for children to play. A large garden shed provides plenty of space for storing bikes and surf boards. Stairs lead up to the galleried landing with three bedrooms and a bathroom.Gorwel makes the ideal base to explore all that Pembrokeshire has to offer. Take a walk up Carn Llidi to take in the panoramic views over the coast and enjoy stunning sunsets over the sea. Join the Pembrokeshire Coastal Path and explore the area's many bays and beaches including Whitesands, named officially one of the best beaches in the world and highly rated by families and surfers.  Within walking distance of the house are Caerfai bay with its sandy beach and St Non's Chapel and holy well, the reputed birthplace of St David. A boat trip from St Justinian's around the islands of Ramsey and Skomer is not to be missed; visit the RSPB owned Ramsey island to see medieval archaeological sites, a diversity of coastal birds and a colony of grey seals. Overlooking Whitesands Bay you can also take in a round of golf against a stunning sea backdrop. The famous tiny City of St Davids has an excellent selection of pubs, shops, recommended restaurants and galleries to enjoy, while the beautiful Cathedral and Bishop's Palace hold a number of events throughout the year; all this is on your doorstep.A wonderful holiday base whatever the season.
