About this cottage rental
Birch Cove Bungalow is a super cute and family-friendly cottage located in an incredible location on Big Platte Lake! It features a large and gorgeous waterfront backyard with a dock! Very comfy layout with 3 bedrooms and a full bathroom! Very safe, secure, and private! Also includes a huge backyard deck with great views of the lake, enclosed porch with great lake views, outdoor bonfire ring, gas grill, and television with DVD player. Perfect family getaway to northern Michigan!

Our local property manager lives in the area and is available to answer any questions and/or address any issues.
NEIGHBORHOOD:
The immediate neighborhood consists of lakefront homes on Big Platte Lake, most of which are secondary homes for professional families. The area is very safe, quiet, private, and secure!
The cottage is in a perfect location for exploring the best of northern Michigan! The cottage is just a 5-minute drive from the incredible natural beauty of Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore! It's also just a 10-minute drive to Platte Beach on Lake Michigan and a 13-minute drive to Beulah Beach on Crystal Lake! For fun shopping, dining, and entertainment, the charming beach towns of Frankfort, Beulah, and Empire are all less than a 30-minute drive from the cottage! If bigger city sites are desired, then downtown Traverse City, the epicenter of Michigan tourism, is just a 45-minute drive from the cottage!
GUEST ACCESS:
Guests have access to the entire house, except for a closet that is locked off for owner usage.
THE SPACE:
The home is very cute and comfy. It has been nicely updated in recent years and includes 3 bedrooms and a full bathroom that has a combination tub and shower. One of the bedrooms has a queen-size bed, one has a full-size, and one has two bunk beds, so the cottage can comfortably sleep 8 people. There is also a modern kitchen and a dining area with seating for 6 adults. The home has lots of windows and great natural lighting throughout!
The cottage also features a huge backyard deck with great views of Big Platte Lake! On the deck, there is a gas grill and also a picnic table and Adirondack chairs for relaxing. Next to the deck, there is an enclosed porch area that also has great views of the lake. There is an outdoor bonfire ring next to the lake for having great family times together!
TRANSIT:
It is highly recommended that guests have their own means of transportation.
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
1) There are no Wi-Fi or television services at the property. There is a television with a DVD player though if you wish to bring DVDs.
2) Pets are not permitted at the property.
3) For sewer service, the property has holding tanks. An alarm signals when the holding tanks need to be emptied. It is necessary for guests to let us know when this signal occurs. We will get the holding tanks emptied promptly once informed of the need.
4) The cottage does not have a dishwasher.

Comfy, cozy cottage on a pretty lake with beautiful sunrises and night sky. The area has plenty of bike trails, hiking, a National Lakeshore and towns nearby with good food. We are planning to rent again. Thanks for a wonderful time!

The house is kept very clean and comfortable. The location is great with easy access to M-22. Overall, this was a great home base for our adventures. We appreciated the peaceful view and beautiful sunrises!

An older but clean and well loved house off a nicely secluded drive. It was a great getaway with a beautiful view of the lake. No AC or wifi, but it wasn’t an issue the week we stayed. Would definitely stay again!
