The Neighborhood:
Sandviken is a historic and charming neighborhood in Bergen, known for its idyllic wooden houses, narrow streets and proximity to the sea. The neighborhood has several popular restaurants and cafes, which serve both local and international cuisine. Sandviken is also home to several art galleries and small shops that sell unique products and crafts. There are several parks and hiking trails in the area, and you can easily take a walk along the sea or up to the mountains to enjoy the fantastic view of the city and the fjord. The neighborhood is only a short walk from the city center and is well connected by public transport, so it's easy to explore other parts of the city.
Getting Around:
BUS - Stop in Olav Kyrres gate or Torget will take you where you are going.
BYBANNE - From the terminus at Byparken you can take the light rail directly to the airport.
CITY BIKE / ELECTRIC SCOOTER - Find stations all over the city with bicycles and electric scooters available for rent through an app. Super fun and convenient!
PARKING: The easiest parking solution is the Birkebeinersenteret, only 250 meters away. The daily price is approximately NOK 250. You can also find alternatives on the street and pay with the "P I Bergen" app. Be sure to check the local regulations!
