Home away from home!

Excellent location, lovely decor, very clean and well equipped, warm and comfortable. Chris’s communication was excellent. Would stay again.

The location was brilliant, since we were in Dubbo to go to the Taronga Western Plains Zoo, it was entirely convenient. In the morning it was too perfect to sit on the veranda with our coffee and watch the kangaroos in the paddock as the sun came up. After spending a week in the bush, two nights in that beautiful cabin was exactly what the doctor ordered!

There were bits and pieces of construction materials leaning against walls in the bedroom. I found a dirty tea towel folded up in the cutlery drawer, and I don't think the one hanging on the oven handle was very clean either. The sponge that was the only thing to wash dishes with was worn out and the scrubby part was useless and falling off. There were no dish cloths for washing up, and very little dish soap. I felt like I had to conserve it. There were exactly four squares of paper towel left on the roll in the kitchen. It just felt like it was too much trouble to re-stock the unit properly, there MIGHT have been enough coffee, tea, paper towel, dish soap, etc., for two people for ONE night, but for two people for two nights or an extended visit? Not enough. As it happens, we had our own coffee, tea, etc., and that's good because there was no milk in the fridge. I've never been in a B&B that had no milk for my coffee. THERE WAS NO SALT AND PEPPER. There were salt and pepper shakers up on a high shelf, but they were empty. I can tell that the cabin is fairly new / unfinished in places, but some art on the walls might be nice? some pops of colour in there? All black and white is a bit stark and depressing, although stylish, I suppose. Having said all that... we still loved it, and we'll still come back next time we come to the zoo.

No blockout blind or curtain in the bedroom

This self contained cottage was great. It had all the amenities we could need including a full kitchen and laundry. It was clean and well maintained. The front porch was a lovely spot to have a drink of an evening and watch the local kangaroo mob have their dinner.

The room was quite bright once the sun came up so I needed an eye mask but that's just personal preference.
