''The Den'' Lakeview Apartment at Watersedge

Being a hotel complex site ourselves, we always look for accommodation that is a little more luxury than standard for when we get away and this definitely ticked all the boxes! There are so many little things that were over and above that really did make it feel like a home from home. The grounds it is on is absolutely beautiful and a lady who works there took the time to show us all the facilities that lay around the lake which are fantastic. You do need to book in advance if you want to participate in any of the classes, paddle boarding or lake swims. The outdoor/garden area isn’t private as such as the guests attending the wellness retreat can technically see into your space but this didn’t affect our stay at all as they were far enough away to not make it feel like they were on our doorstep. Honestly, if you love something a little different and 5* accommodation - get it booked! 🥰

The apartment was light and spacious, there were 7 of us and we didn't feel cramped together. The shower in the en suite was larger than a full size bath. The outside area had plenty of seating too - sin loungers, sofa, chairs,and dining table and chairs as well as a bbq/fire pit and a hot tub. The cakes and milk were a lovely surprise. Tea, coffee, sugar, sweeteners, salt, pepper and oil as well as coffee pods for the coffee machine were all provided. Really importantly the beds were all so comfortable, and there were good quality pillows. Body wash, shampoo and conditioner as well as hand-wash were all provided (though we had brought our own) Hot tub was good - remember to bring flip flops or sliders to step across the gravel comfortably. Staff were quick to respond to queries - thank you. Would we return to The Den - yes we would love to.

Not so much we didn't like but a couple of suggestions - a pair of kitchen scissors would be handy. And a grab rail in the ensuite shower for where you step out - I'm a bit unsteady on my feet and almost slipped stepping down. No sauna in bathroom (as in description of apartment) the sauna pods are a short walk away, and as it was a really cold weekend none of us fancied the walk. You can only walk a short way along a path by the lake which was a shame, but there are other walks nearby.

Everything was perfect!!! The lodge, the facilities, the area, we couldn't have wanted for anything more for an escape with friends and everyone was so lovely and helpful, we can't wait to rebook 😀
