The location was beautiful and, whilst it felt remote and removed from everyday life, we were close to some beautiful places like Holt and Blakeney for a little day trip. The night was so quiet you could hear the owls which was wonderful
We loved everything

We had a lovely stay at the Lilly pod. Everything was presented beautifully. Nice touches with Tea coffee and biscuits. The log fire was welcoming on such a cold weekend. The bed was super comfy. The Shower was lovely and hot. Clean and tidy. Couldn’t fault a thing. We would definitely recommend and return. Thank you for a lovely weekend.

Unfortunately we were not there long enough to be able to give a proper opinion.
Sorry to say that on arrival it appeared that there were dog? hairs on the bed sheets when checking on arrival. First inspection of the shower room was that there was urine still in the toilet and poo splatters all inside the toilet bowl, under and above the toilet seat there was human hair and dirt. The shower had soap scum and human hair in the shower tray and the shower controls were dirty. It was very clear to us that the shepherds hut hadn’t been properly cleaned between guests!!!! We expressed to the owner that we didn’t feel comfortable staying and drove home that night.
The owner stopped communicating with us on the evening when we were trying to get in contact with Booking.com to ask about the possibility of changing accommodation. Obviously we were not happy with the hygiene standards we had found.

The location was stunning, and perfect for local sight seeing.
The property was perfect for a couple of nights, we did find that it could have been a little cleaner and there were a lot of cobwebs around the bed area.
We were also provided wood for the wood burner, but unfortunately the logs had been cut too large and we could not get them in the stove.
But this didn’t spoil a lovely break away, we stopped and picked up some wood from the shops.
The staff were excellent through out the stay and with our booking.

Beautiful scenery and has all the essentials for a comfortable stay, even in the winter. BBQ charcoal and log burners provided along with pots, pans, and a kettle. Such a wonderful space to stay for a peaceful escape.

The host Nigel was amazing and always glad to help. The location is quiet, far from technology, and internet, which is perfect to recharge your own batteries.
The only lights inside the huts kept failing. The kitchen is very small, hard to cook anything. At first it's hard to find because of no signs. Also needed a warning telling me to bring woods to the firelight.

My stay here was absolutely perfect, everything I could of hoped for.
Nigel was so informative and friendly, check in was quick and simple. The hut was cosy and comfortable, cutely decorated, well equipped for all your basic needs and the campsite was very easily accessible and close to town. I already cannot wait to return!

It was exactly as described- cosy and off grid.
Friendly staff on hand if needed.
Nothing at all.

Loved how secluded the location was, so quiet and dark at night. The wood burner kept us warm on the cold evenings! Facilities provided were great, and bed was very comfortable.
We arrived in the dark and it was hard to find our hut, but the staff were really helpful and came and rescued us and pointed us in the right direction!

The location is lovely, and whilst the space is small, it’s utilised pretty well.
The burner in our hut wouldn’t stay lit, we’d open the vent and door in order to get it going. This then smoked out the hut and made it unbearable to be inside. Luckily we used hot water bottles stay warm.
We also had some left over rubbish and dirty glasses from previous guests.
Lastly there is something living in the roof above the bed, probably a mouse. In hut Lily. Whilst this wasn’t a big issue and given its location you would expect some animal activity, there was droppings falling through the gaps in the ceiling onto the shelves at the corners of the bed.

Lovely setting, warm and cosy once the fire got going, really helpful and friendly staff
Sink was quite blocked

Fantastic location...off grid, no TV, no WiFi spot on!
Stable type door definitely needs a latch to keep both parts together!
Small hob is fine for cooking but could benefit from a grill to make toast !
That said nobody should be put off by these minor criticisms the setting is fantastic and we would definitely return !

Excellent communication throughout our stay. All staff excellent and couldn't do enough for you. Shepherds hut was lovely and the location exceptional.
There wasn't anything we could say that we didn't like

I loved how peaceful the location is. I’ve never slept better! At night, I could hear owls which was lovely. There is some road noise but not too loud.
There is a drinking water tap on the other side of the lake where people camp with tents. I decided to fill some water bottles but the first one I filled was cloudy and a brownish colour with sediment in. I asked if the water was ok to drink and was told it comes directly from the mains. Maybe it does but I still didn’t want to drink some brown water with bits in! I didn’t even give that to my dog!
During my stay, after having boiled some water on the stove, the carbon monoxide alarm went off. I texted Nigel and his response was to leave the front door open, “if you’re worried.” And to speak to the maintenance guy next time he’s on site. I wasn’t sure if steam could set these alarms off and maybe that is all it was but what if it wasn’t!

Crow scarers going off most of the night

Although basic, the cabin had everything you need. There was also a spot for fire and BBQ. The cabin was also very clean and quite comfortable.
We booked it to have peace and run away from the noise of the city. Yet, we got more tired if anything - there seems to be either a hunting ground or a shooting range right next to the cabins land and the shooting start from around 6am and goes on sometimes till 10pm. The shots are fired every 30 seconds I would say. Sometimes it goes quiet for some time, and then goes off again. One of the mornings apart of the shooting, we were also woken up by the digger preparing the ground for a new cabin to be built - that was around 7.30am.
Although, it looks pretty in the photos, the lake definitely is not very appealing for swimming (there are actual signs saying that no swimming is allowed). To be fair, I would not even want my dog to swim there...

Hut was cosy inside
Loud bird scarer blasts going off constantly from farmers field- not good when your dog is petrified of loud bangs. Should have been clearly indicated on booking information. This would allow people with nervous dogs to choose to book or not. Understand that this is out of the owners control but visitors should be fully informed before booking. We had to leave the site and lost our £270 that we paid prior to our visit. Then had to pay to stay somewhere else so we could still have a holiday. Chairs outside the hut precariously balanced and the table attached kept falling off. A family of hornets constantly flying at the hut and coming in, possibly a nest in there somewhere - sad because the hut itself was really lovely in a beautiful location.

The location was lovely and the site was really nice with the lake and the camping/glamping combined. The huts were nice overlooking the lake. We had a lovely experience watching the bats in the evening. Overall our experience was very positive.
I have dropped the score on location because of the monotonous explosion noise from a local farm which started around 5am and woke us up. It spoils the experience but also frightens away wildlife at the site. Other small things that dropped the score the inability to charge a phone was a headache especially when communication with the site was reliant on text and email and we had to keep going to the car to get some power or find cafes to get some charge. Chang over checks need to improve as we hardly had any matches (luckily I’d bought some from home) the bin was very dirty and there needs to be pan scourers in the hut as the pans were dirty from use and then hard to clean.

The location is so stunning and peaceful. In the hut you have it all, with the en-suite, fridge, hob and private bed it’s so perfect for a weekend break away! Everything for your set up was provided too with bathroom amenities and more. We saw all types of animals too, (an owl! Perching on a tree just outside our window) which made our stay more amazing, beautiful spot!
Nothing! We had a lovely time and would defiantly stay again!

Second visit as we weekend there in March
Ideal location for peace and quiet but near enough to seaside resorts
Very dog friendly
Slight issue with light on last night however we did manage to contact the owner who said we could move to cabin next to us but felt wasn’t worth packing up and unpacking for 1 night

Beautiful location, lake, wildlife, lovely cozy cabin, very cute and romantic place to spend a couple of days, lovely fire, next to Holt with lovely pub / cafe options
The main issue is the bird scarer. We travelled with our dog who was very unsettled by it.

Comfortable and cozy. Lovely scenery
Strong septic tank smell wafting in the hut when door was open and in the seating area outside.

We liked the location of the property and the additional touches such as charcoal and wood. The assistance retrieving the key was greatly appreciated.
Our main issue was the bird scarer that went of during daylight hours my dog really didn’t like it we had chosen the location with her in mind. It made getting her out of the car in to property and the reverse very challenging.

Absolutely stunning setting. So quiet and peaceful, apart from the odd bird scarer in the farmers fields. Loved the little shepherds hut which had everything we needed! The shower was so good!!
Also the firepit and BBQ which were both supplied and wood and charcoal for 1 night! Would 100% recommend and will be returning! Also to note that Holt is 5mins up the road with lovely pubs and restaurants. Also there's a bugens with everything you could want!
As before, the bird scarers going off in the farmers fields were very loud, but you soon got used to them
The only other point I would make, is for fly spray or fly strips in the shepherds hut, as we were woken by them landing on us! Again, this is a very minor detail and expected in the months. Probably just take my own spray strips next time

Very pretty location, cabin was lovely and done to a high standard. It had everything that you could need inside and very clean. Nice touches with fire wood and coal for the bbq. In a great area close to holt town and beaches.
Would definitely stay again.
Just some constructive feedback but wouldn’t put us off staying again, shower could of been designed better as did end up leaking and could do with a curtain across the door in my opinion as felt very on show getting dressed.

Beautiful quiet surroundings. Wardens check in with us from a discrete distance so unobtrusive but you felt cared for. Went for a quiet well needed rest and left feeling refreshed. Hope to visit again as plenty of things to do in area.
