Commerce Cove Cottage - Quiet Lake Retreat, Pet-Friendly!

I booked this gem for its proximity to an event in which my daughter was participating. It was to be my 1st shared accommodation w my son, his GF and their dog, so needed a pet-friendly venue. My mom added on at the last minute (with permission.) House located on a peaceful canal near the entrance to a lake w scenic view and entertaining (not overwhelming) waterfowl (pair of mallards, loon, couple geese and a swan seen across the lake.) My cousins lived nearby and the sitting/dining area was large enough to accommodate 12 of us for dinner (with permission.) Had a relaxing campfire on the spacious deck. House had plenty of storage, privacy and all appliances worked perfectly. While an older home, there were many thoughtful updates. It was a genuinely pleasant experience.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was cozy and well thought out. The hosts were accommodating and good at communicating with us. We would definitely stay again.

Location was excellent for our needs. The lake is electric motor only, so it was very quiet and peaceful. The cleanliness of the unit was lacking. Food left in cupboards and refrigerator from previous tenants. The oven and outdoor grill need a good cleaning. The home had a musty smell upon entry. The living room A/C system failed and took multiple visits from technician to correct. I needed to set aside 5 days to allow repairmen into the home.
