Casetta Vanda is in a quiet location, away from the hustle and bustle of other tourist locations. At the same time, it provides a short drive, 30-40 min, to Lake Auronzo or Tre Cime (you need to reserve parking to go to the Auronzo Refuge with your own car - it is booked at least a few days in advance). Returning to Casetta Vanda, we found here all the utensils we needed to prepare some food, even a box of pasta and a jar of sauce - perfect for mixing something quickly coming from the road, tea and coffee. We were impressed by the cleanliness and the attention to provide guests with everything they need for a wonderful stay. It even has a washing machine and dryer, as well as a dishwasher. Very close is a very good pizzeria (in the nearby campsite, check the schedule because in the afternoon they prepare pizza only after 7:00 PM) and a local grocery store 10 min walk or a supermarket 5 min by car (closed between 1:30 PM and 4:30 PM). Another pleasant surprise was Sappada, a charming town with beautifully decorated houses, located 10 min by car from Casetta Vanda. There is also a waterfall there which can be reached on a well-marked path. Don't miss the gorge at the entrance to Sappada either - it is spectacularly deep.

We had a truly lovely stay at Casetta Vanda. The house is charming, very clean, and well cared for, with everything we needed to feel comfortable right away. Giuseppe was a wonderful host — welcoming, attentive, and easy to communicate with throughout our stay.
For us, the location was perfect. It’s about an hour from beautiful spots like Lago di Dobbiaco and Lago di Braies, which made it easy to explore the area while staying somewhere peaceful. We also discovered some really nice places much closer, both in the village itself and just a few minutes away in Val Visdende — a real gem.
Overall, a perfect balance between convenience and tranquility. We would absolutely recommend it and would happily come back ourselves.
