Gite Traditionnel au Centre Historique d'Éguisheim

I loved the old medieval village and the storks and church bells...all of it. Truly an amazing experience.

The heat wave made the apartment at the top of the building way too hot. We had to blow fans all night long by blowing hot air out one window which has the effect of sucking in the cooler air from outside. Although the hosts did use fans, it did not seem as if the hosts used them to improve the air flow on the day before our stay as even the floors were burning hot on bare feet. It was hotter inside that apartment than it was outside. These old buildings were built to retain heat over cold winters. One day or two of extreme heat is probably ok but 3 or more days in a row makes it impossible to keep them cool. Also there were mostly only sit down restaurants for wine tasting and expensive. No real family friendly places in the area. I don't think we will come back unless we come without kids and a plan to do tastings. It delivers on history and beauty, but not so much in practicality.

A very unique apartment with lots of space and excellent facilities. The host was easy to communicate with and gave all the necessary information by email. The location is perfect in the centre of the town . We loved our stay and definitely would return
