Little Hollywood Suite @ The Historic Kanab Inn

I liked the coziness of it all. Our room was very clean as well.

I think the kitchen could’ve been cleaner.

The host gave clear instructions for check-in and responded immediately to messages. I have never experienced a stay in this setting before, and it was a really good experience with this host. There were plentiful towels and linens, all clean. I took an evening walk to the nearby Kanab trail around dusk. I was rested in the morning to continue my trip. I gathered there is an option to reserve every suite (bedroom, bath) in the house. I would recommend not just for singe traveler, but also for a family for a stay in the area - good homebase for area attractions, for sure.

Another guest had left some dishes in the sink. I just cleaned them up, not a big deal, and did not detract from the overall experience.

The one positive thing was that we were able to do laundry, which was helpful. But overall, the house felt very old, poorly maintained, and uncomfortable throughout the stay.

The stay was honestly a really strange experience — the house genuinely felt haunted. It had a very creepy and spooky atmosphere overall. One of the biggest issues was the hot water. I mentioned it to the host, and they explained that the house had two boilers and that nobody else had complained, but the reality is that I couldn’t take a proper hot shower during the entire stay. The only time I managed to get hot water was around 5 AM. The kitchen was also extremely dirty. The electric kettle had so much dirt and limescale buildup that it was basically unusable, so we ended up not using it at all. The toaster was unusable as well. There were several issues with the house itself. One of the doors leading to the patio would not open at all, and the main entrance door did not close properly. On one occasion, someone accidentally left the entrance locked with an internal latch, and we couldn’t get back inside. We had to knock on a window until another person came to open the door for us.
