The Field Station has become my home away from home and my absolute go-to hotel. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms are comfortable and thoughtfully designed, but what truly sets this place apart is the incredible staff. They go out of their way to make every stay feel welcoming and special.
I honestly wouldn’t stay anywhere else. And the biggest endorsement of all? My dog, Wally, absolutely loves it here. He’s not just welcome—he’s genuinely adored. What more could you ask for

The Field Station is now my go-to place in Joshua Tree. The location is terrific, the rooms are comfortable and thoughtfully designed, and the pool and hot tub are wonderful after a day of exploring.
But what truly makes this place special is the staff. They are unbelievably warm, welcoming, and genuinely kind—the people are what make this place so memorable.
And as a dog owner, I have to add that my dog, Wally, is not just welcome here—he is loved. That means the world to me. The Field Station has become our home away from home, and I can’t wait to come back.

The place was actually nice, clean, and generally enjoyable. However, the plumbing failed, making it impossible to use the toilet or shower. Staff made us wait extensively and promised some remuneration. But at checkout, they said since we used Agoda, there was nothing they could do. They did offer us a bagel or a cup of coffee. But we drove away dirty from the previous days activities and unimpressed with our stay. Thumbs down. Staff was useless.
