Our “Haus Hafeneck,” with its four “Seehund” vacation apartments in Bensersiel, is located right at the foot of the North Sea dike! You’ll find our vacation apartments right by the small, tranquil harbor in the heart of the North Sea spa town of Bensersiel. Thanks to our house’s very special location, you’re even closer to the North Sea than is usually possible here in East Frisia.
Bensersiel is located directly on the unique natural wonder that is the “Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park,” a “UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site” since 2009.
The four “Seehund Vacation Apartments” in “Haus Hafeneck” for 7 people, accommodating two to five people plus one additional toddler and two to three people plus one additional toddler, range in size from approximately 50 to approximately 74 square meters. They are comfortably furnished and equipped; the “Ebbe” apartment features a sheltered terrace.
Right outside your front door lies the dike, followed by the harbor, and then, of course, the North Sea. Take a stroll across the sluice bridges past the harbor, and you’ll soon arrive at the diverse beach and recreational facilities. On the beach itself, you’ll find the beach pavilion, which hosts many events, the covered beach playground “Bennis Abenteuerland,” and, for example, an internet room where you can surf the web even in bad weather.
Also on the beach, you’ll find the seawater wave pool, the maritime sports theme park, the circus tent for various events, and many other ideas to make the most of your vacation.
You can easily reach all the other attractions Bensersiel has to offer on foot in just a few minutes.
You can reach the spa park directly through the garden; it’s practically right next door to our property. A stroll through the spa garden takes you to the “Sonneninsel” North Sea Thermal Baths, which is also located in the immediate vicinity. The “Sonneninsel” is a modern, heated recreational pool. All spa facilities, as well as a modern wellness, sauna, and fitness center—the “Vital Aktiv Center”—are also located within the Nordseetherme.
You’ll also find plenty of shops—such as those in the Deichpassage—as well as restaurants and cafés along the short walk from your vacation rental to the beach. You can reach the unique natural spectacle of the “Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park”—a “UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site” since 2009—in just a few minutes for your evening stroll along the dike. Then simply take a short walk—or even a few hours—and enjoy the sunset. You won’t even realize what’s happening—it’s just that beautiful here on the coast!
Whether you’re here for a vacation or a health retreat, we’ve got you perfectly taken care of. Very close to Bensersiel lies Esens, the “living room” of the Harlingerland region. You can reach Esens by car in about five minutes. Even better, hop on a bike and take the “back route” through the marshlands via the “Hammerweg” or along the idyllic “Kajedeich” by the “Benser Tief.” Wonderful tours await you.
The great attractions of Bensersiel are complemented by the over 475-year-old knight’s town of Esens, with its historic town center. Here you’ll find a wealth of events—both large and small—as well as museums, dining options, and shopping opportunities.
