We had an enjoyable stay. It was very cold outside, but the fireplace made it nice and cozy. Plenty of wood was easily accessible, along with the tools, matches, etc., to light the fires. Downstairs had 3 comfortable beds as well. The Heat pump seemed to struggle with the temperature, but the downstairs heaters could keep up. The kitchen was better stocked than any I've stayed in. I would love to come back again.

The upper floor of the living area was recently renovated, very clean and well equipped. Only complaint was that there was no space for guests to store their stuff out of sight. The lower floor was poorly furnished and had a creepy. feel to it. The heat pump hot water heater discharged a steady flow of 55 degree air into this space whenever it ran. It took the unit over a half hour to reheat the water that I used tor a quick shower. These units are NOT intended to be installed in living spaces!In order to provide a comfortable sleeping temperature in the downstairs bedroom, it was necessary to shut off the upstairs air conditioning and turn on the downstairs heat about four hours before going to bed. The mini-splits are lame and only heat the air about 1 degree per hour.The upstairs living space rates a 5, but the downstairs is - being kind - a 3, making the entire house a 4. The property surrounding the house is totally neglected as shown by the photos. When we first drove by the house, we thought it was an abandonded property and not our Vrbo. Weeds and wildflowers were 3 to 4 feet tall. Those growing near the stairs covered the stair rails and had prickers. We had to trim them back in order to use the stair rails.The walkways were gravel and no attempt was made to level them to provide safe walkways. The outdoor lighting didn't turn on fast enough, turned off too fast, was too dim, or didn't work at all.The outdoors rates a 1, total property is 2.5.
