Southern Comfort Cabin

Downstairs sleeping accommodations were unusable due to broken furniture. One of the bedroom closets was padlocked so there was inadequate space to hang clothes and store luggage. The furniture needed updated and was very uncomfortable . However the cottage was beautiful, the setting was lovely, and we had a relaxing stay.

Great find! My kids loved the outside space and the trails leading to various frisbee golf holes. They found new holes every day! The Hot tub was perfection. Shuffleboard was also a hit for the whole family! The Only small note is that there are no chairs around the fire pit. There were some stumps but they were not comfortable for long. Plan to bring camp chairs if you want to sit by the fire outside and stargaze.

The down side was the lighter didn't work, there is not enough outside lights on the porches, and the nest heating control not a soul knew how to function it including the staff so we froze both nights..

The cabin and area were beautiful, but be aware the area is rustic with one lane gravel roads. The bathrooms are on different levels one downstairs one upstairs. There are only 2 closets in the cabin that are usable and there is only 1 towel rack in the bathrooms. Furniture was rustic and uncomfortable. Downstairs trundle bed and futon were broken so they were unusable for our entire weeks stay requiring some guests to make alternative arrangements. It was a shame because this cabin was large enough for 8. Kitchen was well supplied and hot tub was clean and enjoyable. The rental agency stated we would be refunded some of the rental cost although it’s been over a week since we were told that and so far-no refund. We had to bag our own trash and put it in our car and drive over 2 miles to dispose of at checkout. We were told this was not the norm for all cabins. Overall we would stay at Lydia Mountain Cabins again, however this cabins furnishings were subpar and with the limited closet space and lack of bathroom towel racks we would choose another cabin.
