Gaonvasi Homestay

I had to be in Natin on Jan 15, for the dayara bugyal trek and wondering what to do during two days gap i have got. That's when I saw this homestay. With not much expectations I took a cab and the google map location ended on the road with no buildings or sign of human life around. Suddenly Mukesh calls me from the terrace ground 20 ft above. Climbing the steps and we reach a flat land with his three room homestay. It was amazing as looking around you see only himalayan ranges and narrow water streams flowing from the mountains joining the Bhagirathi running at the foothills. I was given a room with three beds. The room clean and neat with good sheets. The bathroom was very clean and maintained really well. Bath had clean towels and all toiletries, which I was not expecting. Mukesh and his wife Aradhna cooked simple pahadi food, which was very tasty. If the daytime was beautiful, the night was even more lovely. Sitting near the bonfire staring at the star studded sky was a stunning sight. Mukesh even pointed out to a quick moving star circling in the sky, which he said maybe a manmade surveillance satellite. Enjoyed the stay with the hosts and if I get another chance to go to Raithal, will be staying in this Gaonvasi homestay. The host was very helpful in getting me a transport to my next location. Talking to Mukesh tells me that this is going to be a famous sought out place in the coming years.

The homestay is at 11800 ft above sea level, so you have to set your expectations right. Do not expect the luxuries other than what has been promised by the host.Personally, I didn't have any problems as I had a good idea on what to expect and what not to.
