徳川の奥座敷 久能宿 -Liberty Resort-

Great place! I recomend staying here for 2-3 nights. Pros: great onsen! The best one so long on my trip. Nice people working there, very helpful. Good beds, clean and traditionally-looking house with modern TV, AC and a little fridge. Good wi-fi. Great breakfast, Japaneese style, very traditional. It seems like being a place natives are using a lot, but if you are a foregin toutist like me, don't be afraid to go there, you don't need to be very into the japaneese to have a good time there. Onsen-travelling and hotel tips for dummies (like me): In onsen you bath all-naked, men and women separated, of course. So you don't need to bring any bath clothes and such. This is obvious for many, but I did not really know this the first time. Onsen time is from 15 to 22:30, so you should come as early as possible, there is no open onsen in the morning. Taxi from Shizouka station cost about ¥4000. There is a food court and some other places to eat there, but i highly recomend buying something you like down at the town just in case, there is no konbinies there, remember that, but there are wending machines with lemonade. Just don't buy alcohol, drunk persons can't acces the onsen (and are owful). The hotel is 10/10, I'm gotta come here again. There is also a great museum there, for free for guests.

Cons: The bath in my room was too hot and there were no possible to regulate the temperature in some way. Remember please that we go to the great bath to chill out in a couple of hours, not to cook line a shrimp in 20 minutes. It should also be onsen shoes in bigger sizes, like EUR 45-47, those were maybe 40.

Extremely clean facilities with an incredibly inviting staff, from start to finish our stay was fantastic. A nice and calm atmosphere makes this spot a wonderful stopping point for a break mid-holiday.

If you truly want to embrace Japanese culture, I highly recommend this resort. Be sure to request the breakfast option during your stay. The meal is outstanding. This property is definitely used by locals in the area. The massage services were excellent.

A few portions of the resort could use minor renovations.

お部屋に半露天風呂がついていて、 朝風呂に入ったのですがとても気持ちよかったです。 受験のために泊まって、試験日の朝、ご飯を食べられる余裕がなくて困っていたのですが、お弁当用に朝ごはんを詰めて頂いて、とても有難かったです。

アクセスが少し悪かったです。 バスで古宿まで行って、歩いていったのですが、 ナビで違う道が表示されて、迷子になってしまいました。あと、山の中腹とまでは行きませんが、坂道の上にあるので、歩いて行くことはおすすめしません。でもそこにあるからこそ景色はとても綺麗です。
