Grand Hôtel City - Akwa

1. The hotel is located in the city center, making it convenient to go anywhere, and it's only a 15-minute drive from the airport. 2. The hotel offers a free airport shuttle service, which is very convenient. 3. The hotel reception sells SIM cards and even helps with top-ups. 4. My shoes and bag were torn, and the hotel reception helped me find someone to mend them—the service was excellent! 5. I packed my dinner to take back to the hotel, and the hotel reception even reheated it for me in the restaurant late at night—I was really touched! 6. Even during power outages, there's a generator, so I didn't experience any prolonged power outages. There's also 24-hour hot water, and the Wi-Fi speed is very fast! The room is cleaned daily and is very spotless.

The only drawback might be the rather ordinary surrounding environment of the hotel, but that's not the hotel's fault.

J’avais une très belle chambre, ménage bien fait, un bon lit,

J’ai été surprise de voir les cafards 😠. J’ai payé 500fcfa pour un café ☕️ et cette somme est passé en room service (on insiste pour monter le repas et on ne dit pas que c’est payant) Pas de sourires

The room and facility is generally comfortable and clean. Room is fit for purpose - sleep, rest, work. Housekeeping and front office staff also friendly. Rooms are sound proof enough to block out most of the external noise from the downtown activities.

The franchise seems to have different locations could be clarified. This specific location is a little wanting, seems like downtown and dingy but the interior/facility make up for it. Room needs to have reception and restaurant extension numbers. Restaurant team could be better trained to be more hospitable especially given it is bilingual, not going to be easy for non French speakers.
