The location was peaceful. It was away from the main road and the busy resort. The host was keen to help and a nearby family were very friendly. All locals were welcoming. The town Sidari was around 10 minutes by car and could provide all provisions. There were several supermarkets and many places to eat. I imagine this town is very busy at peak times. The host and family provided a safe, clean apartment for us to use as a base for our holiday. I felt confident that if we'd needed assistance during our stay they would have helped us. Corfu Town was around 50 minutes away by car. The rest of the Island was accessible within roughly this timescale. We travelled before the heat came but could see that some thought had been given to provide comfort during the summer. The apartment had stone floors, windows, shutters and insect screens. There was a veranda with table and chairs which provided a nice place to sit outside admiring their lemon tree. The open plan living space made it very easy to be sociable with all members of your party whether you were cooking together, eating together or relaxing on the sofas. They happily provided a cot and highchair for our little one.

The apartment was almost perfect for us. The twin beds were a little too hard for my liking. This could be easily remedied with the addition of optional mattress toppers. We had a toddler with us and I was concerned she might fall onto the corners of the coffee table which were pointy. Again, this could be easily solved with the addition of some corner covers. Similarly one or two cupboards with child locks(clips) might be good but these are definitely not deal breakers.
