They were completely modernised and refurnished in 2020 and 2022 respectively. There is a living room (upholstered furniture, sofa bed, flat-screen TV, radio), an open-plan kitchenette (ceramic hob, fridge with freezer, microwave, various small kitchen appliances), a bedroom (two single beds or double bed) and shower/WC. Attractions include the historic old town, the harbour with its passenger boat service, adjacent promenade and numerous catering facilities as well as the Müritzeum, a nature discovery centre with a huge freshwater aquarium and exhibitions on the flora and fauna of the lake district. The town also has open-air swimming pools, boat and bike hire, a surfing and sailing school and many shopping facilities. Waren is the gateway to the Müritz National Park, which can be easily explored via the well-developed network of cycle paths (also in combination with the passenger boat service).
