Villa Alike - IsulaTravel

The property is larger than the photos make it appear, and it is well decorated. It definitely feels like a home. The location is very close to the beach and also close to other towns like Modica, Scicli, and Ragusa. The rooms are large and the A/C units work well. The kitchen was well equipped, but you only have what previous users had bought and left. The trees on the property are beautiful and varied. It is a very large property, inside and out. Lots of spaces to sit and eat, which is nice, though we only used one for our group. Outdoor shower by the pool is a nice touch. The pool design/layout and diving board were superb - we thoroughly enjoyed it. We enjoyed our time there except for what is listed below.

1 shower was not working whatsoever so people had to double up. Every single shower head was broken (you had to hold them to shower) except for one of the two rainhead showers. The other rainhead shower was completely unusable. The pool was having issues when we arrived so they had to put chlorine in the salt pool. Though the owner came to clean the pool one day we were there, it was rather dirty by the end given a rainstorm and likely insufficient chlorine. Chlorine is very harsh on the hair/skin, so this was unfortunate. If the pool was fully salt, it would be a 10/10. The biggest issue was Isula Travel. I highly recommend avoiding booking with this company. We booked for 12 people and due to an error on their end, they had us booked for 6. They then charged us almost 2,000 euro more the week before our trip, rather than honoring our booking confirmation for 12 and threatened that we would have to find new accommodation. Further, they make you sign another contract after you have fully paid and cannot cancel, they actively video-surveil the property, and there are hidden costs for electricity (free to a certain point and then charged) - none of which is listed on the booking listing.
