Our ground floor spacious villa with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms is located on a tucked away private holiday domain minutes from the market town of Chalais in the Charente in South West France. It sleeps 6 guests and is ideal for a family holiday or friends holidaying together. We also rent out over weekends (min 3 nights) to accommodate guests attending weddings in the area (see below wedding venues & distances).

The house is spacious, bright, and has a modern feel to it. Outside there is an enclosed garden with a heated & alarmed pool, a covered al-fresco dining area, and a decked terrace with BBQ.
The domain offers the extra benefit of a play park for the little ones, use of onsite tennis courts, petanque piste and use of communal bikes.
You can walk or bike to your nearest town Chalais. With the car, it will take approx 5 minutes.

Chalais is a small market town with supermarkets, banks, shops, butchers, greengrocers, bakeries, pharmacies etc. The towns has a train station where trains run between Angouleme , Coutras and Bordeaux.
Angouleme, 45 minutes drive away, has a TGV station and you can be in approx. 2 hrs in the capital Paris.

The Charente region is known for its 2nd best climate in France (after the South of France) where you will find vineyards on your doorstep. Local wine-tasting tours can be enjoyed tasting the local Pineau, various red & white wines, and sparkling wines.
The region benefits from beautiful hills and valleys with local lakes with sandy beaches jotted around the area, all within a short drive from the domain where your villa is located.
A 13-minute drive will bring you to the Circuit de Haute Saintonge - famous for its motorsports & bike racing as well as go-karting.

Visit the bustling cosmopolitan city of Bordeaux (1hr away) and wine town St Emillion (50 minutes) - the perfect day trip. A paradise for wine connoisseurs.
The beaches of the Atlantic (Royan, St Palais sur Mer, St Georges de Didonne) are approx. 90 minutes drive away, it takes about 2hrs to La Rochelle.
