About the Accommodation

The 4-room house with a living space of 140 square metres and 3 bedrooms is available for private use. It is situated on a slope, which means that access is via the upper floor. On this floor, guests will find a spacious living room with impressive rustic wood paneling. From the dining room table you can enjoy a marvelous view, and the sunny balcony, which is directly accessible from the living room, invites you to linger. The kitchen is modernly equipped with an electric hob, oven, kettle, toaster, fridge and a Nespresso coffee machine, as well as all the necessary cooking utensils. Typical for Switzerland, a raclette oven and a fondue set are part of the equipment, which is connected to the living/dining room via a hatch. On the upper floor there is a bedroom for two people with a double bed (180x200 cm) next to a bright bathroom with shower-bath, washbasin and toilet. The lower floor, which is also above the ground floor due to the hillside location, houses two further bedrooms and a separate toilet. The first bedroom, which is also used as a TV room, is furnished with two single beds (90x200 cm). The second bedroom has a bunk bed (90x200 cm) for two people. Pets are not allowed in this house. Wi-Fi internet is available throughout the house for your convenience. There is a garden in front of the house for private use. A single garage and a car park are available.

Welcome to the Swiss mountains, welcome to Amden. The village of Amden lies high above Lake Walensee in the eastern Swiss canton of Sankt Gallen. The classically charming Chalet Engihalde is situated in a wonderful panoramic location above the town centre, with no direct neighbours.
The bus stop "Amden, Stocksitten" is in the immediate vicinity of the house. On the side facing away from the house is the road to the Arvenbüel skiing and hiking area.

Experience Tips Directly from Your Host

Amden is situated in a lovely mountain hollow and offers a marvelous landscape and a wealth of leisure activities in both summer and winter. In winter, the family-friendly ski area invites you to go skiing, winter hiking or tobogganing. The Amden ski school in particular enjoys an excellent reputation. The ski area can be reached from Chalet Engihalde in just a few minutes by car or bus. In summer, for example, you can enjoy Lake Walensee to the full: hiking, walking or swimming in the lake. The mountains around Amden and Lake Walensee are ideal for marvelous hiking tours. Our tip: Walk from Chalet Engihalde to the "Giregärtli" viewpoint in about 10 minutes. A playground in the forest, a cozy fireplace and a fantastic view await you here. Incidentally, Amden is very central: You can reach the cities of Zurich, Chur, St. Gallen or Lucerne in less than an hour's drive. Feel welcome in our charming holiday home in Amden.
