Disoway Getaway house in Black Mountain with 4 bdrms, fire pits, and game room.

The hurricane arrived the night. We were there to stay so caused us to leave early, but that was the only bad thing about our weekend. The house is wonderful just as pictured we were disappointed that we did not get to stay and enjoy. We were only able to stay for the one night and had to leave, but we were very fortunate that the rest of our family were in another house that was crushed by trees and they were able to come stay at this home even without power and running water they had a dry roof over their heads and that we were all very thankful! If you want a great place to stay very clean beautifully decorated And Gary is absolutely The most kindest property owner I have ever dealt with!

We had a fun time here May 24-27, 2024. Checking in was easy, and the house was a good size for our group of 10 adults. It wasn't fancy, but we enjoyed it. We were one of the first three groups to book this new Vrbo listing. It's an older house, probably built in the 1970s. The paint was peeling in places and looked terrible in the showers (hidden behind shower curtains in the listing pics), but the bathroom faucets and water pressure were fine. The porch deck and kitchen were delightful. One miscommunication: the Vrbo listing description specifically said that shampoo and basic soaps are provided amenities. Well, when we got there on the first night, no shampoo and no body wash. Upon messaging the host, he apologized and said his cleaners would bring us some shampoo if they had time. This never happened, but we made do. There was a mini split air conditioner in each bedroom and one in the living/dining room. They produced cool air, but not enough to cool the rooms. Temps outside were in the 80s. It was very warm upstairs--ugh. (Downstairs in the basement, where the bunks are, was fine.) We messaged the host and followed his instructions for the setting on the air conditioners, but it didn't make a difference. I think maybe the units are too small for the space. We didn't have time to use the fire pit; it looked nice. There was no hot tub. The ping pong table and pool table were old and worn, but great fun. We opened the garage doors and had a blast playing. Good times!

We had a wonderful time. The house was as listed and my kids had plenty to do.
