the surrounding area, mudflat hikes to the islands of Baltrum and Norderney. The coastal resort of Neßmersiel is located in the northwest of Lower Saxony, across from the East Frisian island of Baltrum. It is the smallest resort on the East Frisian North Sea coast. Here you’ll find North Sea waves, endless green meadows, and dikes. Visitors automatically fall in step with the typical North German sense of calm. In Neßmersiel, you can still find that cozy, tranquil vacation idyll. Neßmersiel is perfect for letting your mind wander on vacation. A break surrounded by nature.
Neßmersiel is surrounded by dikes, just under 1 km from the Lower Saxony Wadden Sea National Park. Nessmersiel is a paradise for mudflat hikers. Most mudflat hikes to the island of Baltrum start from here. Hiking across the seabed—for many people, this is an unforgettable experience. Boats depart daily from the ferry terminal to the island of Baltrum, the national park, and the seal colonies.
Bicycle paths along the coast and through green meadows offer the opportunity to explore everything by bike.
