About this house rental
Nestled on the heights of the Cliffs of Champeaux, a listed site, but also on the most beautiful kilometer in France, the Vauban Cottage will offer you a breathtaking view of the Bay of Mont St Michel.
With its 200 m2 of living space, its beautiful spacious rooms almost all with sea views, this freshly renovated thatched cottage can comfortably accommodate 8 adults and 4 children.
You will be able to contemplate Mont St Michel and Tombelaine, Cancale depending on the weather on the south-facing terrace or let yourself be lulled by the sound of the waves over a drink.
La Chaumière Vauban is a unique house in the bay of Mont St Michel with a breathtaking sea view.
A private courtyard, closed with a gate will allow you to park up to 3 vehicles.
A mooring is available at the bottom of the house to accommodate a boat up to 7m.
The house has 5 bedrooms:
1 sea view with a 160 cm bed and en-suite bathroom on the first floor
1 terrace / sea view with a 160 cm bed on the first floor
1 sea view with a 160 cm bed with shower and sink upstairs
1 sea view with a 140 cm bed upstairs
1 courtyard and sea view with 4 bunk beds upstairs
A small bathroom with shower and separate sink is also located upstairs.
Each floor has a toilet independent.
You can enjoy a south-facing terrace with sea view and a south-west terrace with sea view
The 50m² living room is an asset for getting together with family or friends over a good dinner.
A brand new equipped kitchen will allow you to concoct good dishes
A jacuzzi on the 2nd terrace will promise you long moments of relaxation
As for the environment:
The house is located on the heights of the cliffs of Champeaux, a classified and protected site since 1973 with the Lude Valley, a wild site of great natural wealth (hundreds of species of birds and butterflies interbreed)
Just behind the house passes the GR223 also called the customs path which borders the Bay of Mont St Michel where you will discover the 2 Vauban Huts but also spectacular landscapes and colors changing with the tides.
Thrill seekers, the cliffs of Champeaux are renowned as a starting point for paragliders overlooking the bay.
The beach at the bottom of the cliff 5 minutes walk from the house is famous for fishing on foot, you will also notice from the terrace the number of fishermen harvesting clams, cockles, razor clams ...
A few minutes by car, the seashores of Carolles, Jullouville and Donville will make you discover beautiful villas, casinos and private mansions from the early 20th century.
Close to Granville, You can also embark via an old sailing ship La Granvillaise or La Bisquine for a day trip to the Chausey Islands.
Not far from the house, on the Genets side, you will also find the starting point to cross the shores in a small group to Mont St Michel with a qualified guide.
In summary, lovers of the sea and nature, it is at the Chaumière Vauban that you must put your suitcases!

Weekly rental in high season from SATURDAY to SATURDAY in July and from SUNDAY to SUNDAY in August
All the rooms of the the house are available to holidaymakers as well as the courtyard.
Please note that the basement part and the garden under construction delimited by the planters at the end of the terrace are strictly forbidden to holidaymakers.
Linen is provided and final cleaning is included in the price.
A deposit of 1500 € by cheque or credit card will be requested on arrival.
As long as possible I am here to welcome you, but your arrival can be done independently thanks to the digicode of the gate and the key box.

We hand a nice stay at La Chaumière Vauban. As noted, it has a beautiful view and was a spacious home. Positives: Easy access to coastal walks; a good kitchen for cooking (we cooked all four of our nights); it had shampoo and body wash in each shower; our daughter loved the kids room with with two bunk beds; Marie is very responsive by WhatsApp.Nice touches: Marie put out a kids coloring book and markers, and she left some local treats to enjoy.Oddities: Very low door to master from dining room (hit our heads about once a day - my head still aches from this); tight maneuvering to park car on property (Marie insists on meeting, which is likely related to this).Negatives: Lack of comfortable outdoor seating facing sea view (outside of standing, we didn’t have a place to sit and enjoy the nice view); ants (it was spring time); lack of sharp knives for cooking; lack of lighting in master bedroom (room felt sparse).Things to remember for next time: No conditioner; host only provided one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, one paper towel roll, and two trash bags (this would have been nice to know in advance for shopping purposes).

Beautiful property with plenty of room for family. Perfect stay in the countryside. What a view, we also walked to grange de tom the neighborhood restaurant and they treated us great. Marie the host met us at the property upon arrival and showed us the ropes.
