About this villa rental
Casa Mare, just minutes from Cruz Bay will truly impress you and provide the luxurious experience you desire. Views of Hart bay and the lights of St Thomas at night are here for you to enjoy. Should you venture out to see what St. John is all about you`ll find great shopping, terrific restaurants, world renown beaches nestled inside the Virgin Islands National Park and the warm turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. Abundant sea life await in the shallows for you to discover.
Lush landscaping surrounds the home providing the privacy you deserve and desire. The pool deck and outdoor dining area which can only by accessed from inside the villa provides a stunning setting afforded usually by just the rich and famous. It is perfect for entertaining large groups or the couple on a special getaway. The waves crashing onto the beach of Hart bay can be heard from the deck or the roof top star gazing lounge.
Upon entering the Villa you are dazzled by the slate floors and sleek design features that immediately draw you into the living room area where the pool can be seen through the 20 feet tall, floor to ceiling, hurricane rated glass walls! Comfortable and modern furniture make this the perfect place some to lounge the day away while others enjoy pool never feeling separated. The big screen TV and entertainment center can be viewed from the living room or the pool, and pool deck. The perfect setting to catch the big game!
Catch another view of the stunning pool on your way to the chef inspired kitchen and dining areas. The Kitchen is stocked with the tools you will need for meal preparation and the appliances are industrial grade. The wine fridge has room for 32 bottles of your favorite blend and is located in the dining area for easy access during meals. There is seating for 10 inside and 8 outside on the deck.
The master suite is on this end of the house and has a king platform bed with a floating headboard, large walk in closet, and a private balcony. the ensuite bath is equipped with dual sinks, plush robes, bath mats, and indoor and outdoor showers. The indoor shower has 8 shower heads for a spa-like experience. There is a Smart TV in the Master Bedroom.
Adjacent to the living room there is a large den with plush furniture set up for the ultimate group board/card game setting. Enjoy a view of the pool as you and your group play everything from Apples to apples to Yahtzee. We are still gathering games so let us know what games you like and we will do our best to track them down!
The four other bedrooms have King beds, large built in closets and smart televisions. Three of which have ensuite bathrooms all have indoor and outdoor showers with ocean views.
The top floor of the house has an exit onto a second floor roof top terrace perfect for gazing into the Milky Way, viewing the lights of St. John and St. Thomas, and listening to the waves crash into the shore at Hart Bay.
The laundry room is fully stocked and has dual washers and dryers to assist you on getting your clothes clean, packed, and ready for the trip home.

This property is even better in person. The villa is absolutely gorgeous and is immaculately clean; we loved the sleek modern architecture. It is open, bright and allows you to take in the beautiful views of Hart bay and St Thomas. The location is perfect as it is close to Cruz Bay’s restaurants, shopping and Dolphin Grommet market is nearby. Parking is on a flat driveway for 2 vehicles. The amazing north beaches and Coral Bay are easily accessible with a short, pretty drive.
The chef's kitchen is the well appointed and it made everything easy. Every bedroom had privacy; furnishings are top notch with beautiful bathrooms. The master suite is spectacular. The pool is very unique and was a big hit for swimming and barbequing. We would wind down the day on the rooftop seating with a glass of wine while stargazing with the lights of St Thomas in the background and the gentle waves below. We spotted deer and birds in a small lake below. The air conditioning is always cool and there is a large generator outside.
Prestige properties made booking easy and Natalie, the new property manager, took care of the pre-arrival shopping for us. She is wonderful, she meet us at the barge and led us to the villa and then assisted us throughout or stay. She is a great concierge and we enjoyed many day trips at the beach, hiking, shopping or boating to the BVI.
It was the perfect place for our family of 10.
We loved everything about this house, and we cannot wait to come back next year!

Casa Mare is a very nice villa that is in a good location, has easy parking, good views, and all of the amenities you would need. The greeter meeting us when we got off the barge was wonderful, she led us to the villa and showed us around. This is one of the nicest villas in the area and the layout is really unique. There are so many different places to go if you want to have some time away from everyone else, but also plenty of space for everyone to congregate in the same area. The dining room and great room are large, there is also a rooftop balcony that is really nice in the evenings, and of course the pool patio is where most people will end up. The pool itself is larger than most, and is pretty deep - 7' or 8' I'm guessing. The only place that young kids can stand up in the water is on the steps, so make sure you bring a life jacket or floaties if applicable. We visited in early March and the pool was a little chilly for us, but warmed up later in the day. On the flip side, the house never would cool down enough for us. There are 4 or 5 AC units in the house, they all work, but the master suite was always set to 74 (locked) and was typically 76-78. Other parts of the house were 80+ during the day. The upstairs room is the only one that would get cool enough so we all congregated in there when needed. Again, this is early March, so I don't know what it would be like in the summer. We struggled with that. Everything else was awesome! We had a great stay.

House is nicely situated close to Cruz Bay. Plenty of space for an extended family of 10. Well equipped kitchen and amenities. The view is very pleasant, not “full onto the ocean”but a side view of the Bay as well as the lovely hills of St John. As a bird watcher I liked the large marsh pond visible. The host David was very responsive. We did have some problems with algae in the pool but after a couple of false starts he did manage to clear it up and the family enjoyed the pool. It’s not large and quite deep with little wading, but more than enough with the amazing access to beaches. We also had some freezer problems which were difficult to resolve, but again David was responsive and helpful. It doesn’t have a hot tub, something I like in a vacation rental, but still it’s a house I gave a high rating because of its good value and responsive host. Very pleasant home base on a wonderful island! Would rent it again.
