A warm welcome to Groß Zicker, on the Mönchgut Peninsula, and to „Uns Kathus. We’re delighted that you’ve chosen our old barn—which we’ve lovingly renovated with a great deal of passion—as your vacation home. Our vacation rental is located in the South-East Rügen Biosphere Reserve on the Greifswald Bodden and at the foot of the Zicker Mountains. Every year, this historic fishing village—with its traditional thatched-roof houses and unique atmosphere—attracts nature lovers in particular. Here you’ll find peace and relaxation, far away from the hustle and bustle of the Baltic Sea resorts. “Uns Kathus” is located in the center of town, right next to the parish widow’s house. From here, you can set out on hikes—for example, into the Zicker Mountains—or bike rides to neighboring historic fishing villages such as Gager, Thiessow, or Klein Zicker. Our village, with its thatched-roof houses, is a historic site within the biosphere reserve. It is important to protect this heritage; for this reason, the use of open fires is prohibited throughout the entire village due to the high risk of fire.



“Uns Kathus” semi-detached house with terrace & fireplace:

Our non-smoking semi-detached home, “Uns Kathus,” with approximately 90 m² of living space, spans two floors and offers plenty of room for up to 2 people. We’ve put our heart and soul into lovingly furnishing our semi-detached home, offering you a pleasant retreat in every season. The first floor features the living/dining area, a guest restroom, and the utility room. The bright living area features a cozy two-seater sofa, a coffee table, a reading lamp, and a TV cabinet with a flat-screen TV and Wi-Fi access. This area is complemented by a fireplace, which provides cozy warmth during the colder months. The open and adjoining kitchenette is equipped with a ceramic cooktop with oven, an exhaust hood, a sink, a dishwasher, a refrigerator with an integrated freezer compartment, a blender, a coffee maker, a kettle, and a toaster. A dining table fits perfectly into the space. From the living area, you can step out onto the south-facing terrace, which is furnished with comfortable patio chairs, a table, and a parasol. A small, disused well from days gone by adds a special touch to your terrace. Your guest bathroom features a sink and a washing machine. You can store your suitcases in the utility room, where you’ll also find a vacuum cleaner and cleaning supplies, among other items. An oak staircase leads you to the upper floor and the open loft. Here, you can enjoy the view of the Greifswald Bodden from a comfortable couch, a coffee table, a sideboard, and a wingback chair with a footstool, or simply relax with a glass of wine and a good book. The adjacent bedroom features a double bed (1.80 m x 2.00 m), adjustable slatted frames, bedside tables with lighting, insect screens, and a dresser. In a separate room across from the bedroom, there is a wardrobe and a safe. The natural-light-filled bathroom features a walk-in glass shower with a rain showerhead, a toilet, a sink, a hair dryer, a makeup mirror, and a towel warmer. All rooms except the bedroom (which has hardwood floors) are equipped with underfloor heating and wood-look tile flooring. A parking space is available on the property at Boddenstraße 37a, but it is not specifically marked. A covered bicycle parking area is located on the property/courtyard at Boddenstraße 37a. Storing bicycles or similar items inside the vacation rental is not permitted!!! Pets are not allowed. You can book an initial linen package (complete set of bed linens, 1 shower towel, 2 small hand towels) for an additional fee up to 14 days before arrival, or supplement it with your own linens. If you book 2 or more sets, you will receive 1 dish towel and 1 shower mat as a one-time bonus.



Check-in is from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00, and check-out is from 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
