Chy An Gweal Farm Cottage

We liked that it had a lovely little garden with a garden picnic bench and a drive that fits 2 cars on with a gate you can close the cars in. Lovely bloke who owns it our Doug, made us feel at home as soon as we met him, he took us around the house to show us stuff in the house where everything was etc. Liked that it was only 20 minus walk to St Ives and only 10 min walk to Carbis Bay beach and plus you have Tesco next door that has costa inside too and a lovely little cafe down the road too and we had a Sunday dinner in the cornish inn and lovely little pub 5 mins walk from the house

There's nothing we didn't like

Cottage was comfortable, cool and we had everything we needed.

The sharp corners on edge of wooden bed base! No recycling provision. No easy chairs for garden. Wouldn’t recommend to dog owners if they usually allow their dogs upstairs.

House was immaculate and obviously decorated to a very high standard, very comfortable and lovely and warm Garden is great and parking good. Close to Carbis Bay and St Ives is walkable but takes around 20-25 mins with some steep hills, especially on your return. Bottle of good quality champagne and milk in the fridge a really nice touch.

Although pets are allowed, I would not say that this is a pet friendly stay, rather a pet tolerant stay. Dogs are only allowed in the dining area and the kitchen and definitely not upstairs. If like us you like to have your pets with you, you may need to rethink as the sitting area and bedrooms were out of bounds. They mention hyporallergenic reasons, but I am not sure that anyone with a pet allergy would stay in a pet friendly house.

The property was clean and well equipped. The location is perfect for getting into st. ives town or Carbis bay. Tesco is on the doorstop. Doug was easily contactable and responsive to any enquiries.

The bed frames are quite large and we all hurt our knees a number of times walking around the bedrooms.
