Old Mint Penthouse

The apartment is described accurately and the photos reflect reality. It is spacious and comfortably furnished, with an east-west orientation with windows on two sides. The owner was responsive to our requests, for example to arrange airport transfers, and the clear information about access and security, complete with numerous close-up photos, was very much appreciated. The lift was a godsend. Previous guests had left behind dishwasher capsules; we left behind our laundry detergent baubles. The view from the sundeck, on top of the apartment, was captivating. The air-conditioning worked perfectly to provide a respite after a morning’s sightseeing and a backdrop to our afternoon siestas. The Spar supermarket is walking distance uphill and stocks all that you may need - food, both prepared and to cook, alcohol, milk & juice, bread and personal care items. Our large Spar branded shopping bags are in the bottom drawer under the cooktop. Washing machine worked like a dream. Location was one of our main criteria, and it did not disappoint - just be prepared for the ‘up & down’ terrain.

A few issues concerned us. The very rusty spiral staircase to the sundeck needs urgent work. The window and glass sliding balcony door locks need maintenance as we were unable to fully lock them. The bathroom vanity light has been poorly repaired with what looks like aluminium kitchen foil. We didn’t utilise the second bedroom which is accessed via a centuries-old stone spiral staircase - far too narrow to safely navigate with a suitcase of any reasonable size. The balcony plants were saved from a dying thirst with a few jugs of water. There is a chimney next to the sundeck that emits what I assume is black soot from a furnace or similar - which covers the living room balcony and then finds its way to the living room. We wondered for the first day or so why our feet and soles of shoes were black.

Sehr gute Lage, tolle Dachterrasse mit Blick über Stadt und Meer, großer Balkon, Klimaanlage funktioniert gut.

Lidt upraktisk med er værelse ned af en stejl trappe, men det vidste vi på forhånd.

Location very good for sights and arrival by taxi was to the front door. Shower and hot water was good.

More sundries would be appreciated like salt, pepper, oil, decent coffee pods. Cooking pans were old and didn't function well. Second bedroom is not conveniently on the main floor.
